    PCV issue

I also forgot to mention that I have cast iron heads. Below is somthing I found during a search of the web for an answer about lash: You can take the "hot" setting given to you in the catalog or cam specification card and alter it by the following amount to get a "cold" lash setting...

    PCV issue

I went .016 Intake and .025 Exhaust (cold). I also went 4% richer with different metering rods in the carb (richer for the low power setting). I also installed a new PCV valve with a new seal in the cap. It seems to idle better and run better at low RPM's. I think you guys were spot on with the...

    PCV issue

Rick, I failed to mention that I adjusted the valves while they were cold. I took the stock 273 numbers (.013 and .021) and went .003 less. Do you still think I should loosen them up? Also, I have a PCV valve on the way. Thanks!

    PCV issue

Thanks again for all the responses. I'm getting about 16 PSI of vacuum at idle. As far as the valve adjustment is concerned, I have new locking adjusters and have adjusted the valves to .010 for Intake and .018 for exhaust. The motor seems to running good in every regime other than idle. If...

    PCV issue

Thanks for the replys. It is an Edelbrock 1403 (500 CFM). I've ajusted the idle mixture screws with it idling around 600-700 RPM. I turned in each fuel/air mixture screw until bottomed and then ran each out until I got best vacuum. I'm not sure about the cam. Motor was just rebuilt prior to...

    Blowin' Smoke! Please Help

I had a problem with the same type syntoms. It was because I installed a pair of valve covers that did not have a shield to block oil from the PCV valve.

    318 instead of 273

I have a 1966 Valiant that has a 318. The guy that rebuit the motor put solid lifters in it. I'm hoping he put a solid lifer cam in it as well. I'm having a hard time keeping the valves adjusted. The current set-up is stock 318 push rod with the cup type end and ball type adjusters. The current...
