    No start on rebuilt 360LA

I am not trying to undermine you here , just looking at your dist cap and the plug wire orientation , your firing order may be the issue unless I'm seeing things wrong. Backfiring while cranking can be several issues but most engines will still fire if timed correctly even with mechanical issues...

    Guess that noise

Torque converter bolts and or dust cover are my guess without more info. Is it solid or poly motor and trans mounts or still rubber?

Lunati Roller Cam + X Heads

There is not much info to go on , a mostly basic 340 will be fine with this cam with headers and a 750 and some head work would be an added bonus. I'm not sure what your induction set up is. Your usually fine with these small rollers (similar to Comps 288 street roller) but I would still get...

Is your 727 full of fluid?

    Engine vibration

If it's an actual out of balance vibration changing mounts will not help. If it's a random vibration and the car is buzzing while up and down in the rpm band at different frequencies then change the mounts. Start with the trans mount and let us know what you find, You have several variables so...

    Engine vibration

You eliminated the front accessories , swapped some other items , like cudamark mentioned in post #4 you should reinstall the rubber mounts , I would even try putting a rubber trans mount in to see if it changes something while in different RPM ranges. Good luck.

    Diagnostic question

I would think the leak down would be worse with bent valves would it not? Are you running stock push rods? If so you said they are straight and not bent? Cant remember ever bending a valve and not bending a stock tube style push rod If your going to do a compression test pay attention to the...

    Backfire when cold

What piston are you using? What compression ratio?

    Waking Up a Turd

It's an old white box cam , there was a .465 224 @.50 and .480? 230@ .50 cam but dont remember the exact specs , it would have been lazy down low with what you had. You have a good base to start with , are you planning on a hydraulic , hyd roller , solid or solid roller cam in your rebuild?

    Waking Up a Turd

Looks like someone ridge reamed the block and found some 1971 flat top pistons , don't see those often. Those markings on the cam (purple , red and white ) do not sound like a mopar cam , do you have a pic?

    Pistons and cylinder bores

You will need to have the bores measured along with the pistons to know for sure.

Cylinder Head Porting and Power Production

Those are impressive numbers and I am confident you have your Demon working really well, what track did you achieve your best times? Just curious. I am going to go out on a limb and suggest any decent street engine in your car would result in some impressive #s as well compared to an average...

Cylinder Head Porting and Power Production

Are you contributing or just going deflect everything off course? Why does he only run 28 degrees of timing? Why , Why , Why? Please explain why , you do know the answer right? I would sure like to hear it and please be factual.

    360 Rebuild for 1974 Swinger

Looking Good! For lifters D&W sometimes has that stuff sitting around if none of the local speed shops or suppliers have any. Good luck!

    360 Rebuild for 1974 Swinger

What cam did you buy? 214 224? 443 465? It has a very slight idle , I had one in a 71 360 in a 75 Dart Sport with headers intake (performer) and 4.10 gears and it ran mid 14s and a 14.30 best in Calgary on an average day. There are worse choices. Im sure I had factory 340 springs in mine that I...

    318 cylinder head

Looks like there are several suggestions/opinions, could you maybe share some info about your Dart , gears , trans (904) , other modifications like intake , carb , exhaust and intended usage. Do you manually shift at WOT or leave it in drive , where does it shift at WOT etc. Maybe you dont drive...

    318 cylinder head

Much like the post from 318willrun I have seen some great results going to 1.88 valve heads 340/360 on a 318 , Is seems everyone has different opinions but I have never had a bad result. I would add a small cam and dual exhaust and enjoy.

    New 408/727 Vibrations

If you have the old trans mount try that first , you mentioned it was fine before but the driver side mount probably didnt look like it currently does. See what if anything that changes for you.

    New 408/727 Vibrations

I would check the headers and exhaust are not touching any body , steering etc and then put rubber mounts back on it to see what changes

    New 408/727 Vibrations

Does the engine vibrate at idle? Does it start to vibrate with rpm as you rev it up while parked? Are the headers touching the body anywhere?

    New 408/727 Vibrations

Do you have a poly transmission mount?
