    7 1/4 differential drain - 8 point female?

I just acquired a new diff cover with a plug that was easily removed. In fact, a kindly FABO member sent me one.

No, he won't. People like that don't learn. They either kill someone or get killed themselves. Best to not be involved in either.

    Dodge Avenger Q's

He's referring to the first generation of the current sedan. The coupe died in 2000. The 2011+ are much better cars. Better suspension, better engines and MUCH NICER INTERIORS. Plus, they have so many rebates and deals right now you can probably get one cheaper new than used. My aunt has a...

    Restoration parts for 66 Cuda

One word of advice: avoid the repro tail lights on eBay from Micas y Mas. Besides the long wait and terrible communication, they don't fit. The other parts you mention are out there, but not cheap. Lots of cosmetic stuff in 1966 was a one-year-only deal.

    '66 Broadcast Sheet Build Codes

Finally found the remains of my 66 Barracuda's broadcast sheet. After piecing it back together, I've been able to decode most of the information, but I can't find any reference to the 'build codes' that I assume identify the original mechanical equipment. I'm especially interested in the...

[SOLD] Stripping out 1966 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 2- Door

He may mean that the 200 and the Signet were separate models in '66. There were no "Signet 200"s. Here's a scan of the brochure showing the 100, 200 and Signet: http://oldcarbrochures.org/index.php/NA/Plymouth/1966-Plymouth/1966-Plymouth-Valiant-Brochure

    1960 Dart/ craigslist find

That's a remarkably rare 2 door hardtop Dart, probably a Phoenix - top of the line - and the first year for the Dart nameplate. Restored, worth 3 times what he's asking for both, but really hard to find that missing trim.

How Fiat thinks, 'er yer new Dart

Relax, fellas. They've been making coffee in cars since the 60s. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KOFFE-MAKER-PALUXETTE-BMW-MB-200-220-300-190-SL-PONTON-PAGODE-12V-NOS-/370596280223 And that's a Fiat 500L, no relation to the Dart at all.

    64-66 Valiant/Barracuda PArts

I've gotten a few parts from him. He's pretty helpful and knows a lot, but be certain of what parts you need and what fits what. He seems like a good guy; he did let me return a radiator that wouldn't fit.

Drove the new 2013 dart to day

The 2.0 is NOT the same engine as Caliber/Patriot/Compass. It only shares the block; every other component is new for the TigerShark. They even swapped the exhaust to the opposite side of the engine. The Hyundai sourced 6 speed auto is just a stopgap till the ZF 9 speed is available. That...

VERY nice! 66's look great in dark colors, I've noticed.

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

Follow up: seller says that all of his lenses have those missing bits, due to the mold (!). eBay agreed with me, but they insist I return both lenses for a full refund, and I pay shipping charges. Once receipt is confirmed by seller, they will issue a refund via "buyer protection". I opted not...

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

So here's where I stand with the seller: his only remedy is that I return them, at my cost, and then he'll refund. I proposed he replace the unusable one or refund half, but shipping is on his dime. I don't trust anyone who sells me something they don't have on hand to be honest that they have...

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

Have escalated this, but not expecting much. Would be happy with a partial refund, as I'll use 'em anyway. More interested in others knowing what to expect. @lou3500: As for $50 being "cheap", I guess you have more disposable income than I. I consider $50 to be relatively pricey for just...

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

You're correct, direct from Mexico. Overall quality isn't bad, if they would just do the finish work right. I think it's chipped from them breaking the mold spars off instead of snipping them with the proper tool. Shipping, however, is a nightmare.

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

Recently bought a set of new reproduction upper tail light lenses for my 66 Barracuda from Micas y Mas on eBay. Anyone who's shopped for 'em know these are hard to find, and the guy had reasonably good feedback, so I went against my gut and won the auction. First of all, seller contacts me...

    Whats your other car?

My dad was a big AMC and Mopar fan, but he was always bringing home odd little imports as well. So while one the first classics I ever bought was a 1960 Valiant 200, I've been involved mostly in vintage Volkswagens over the years. I had probably a dozen different VWs, from a 69 Beetle to a 67...

Brought home my 66 Barracuda an hour ago!

Took my first drive this afternoon - FINALLY! New tires, radiator, turn signal switch, front brakes, bearings, heater core & hoses, and probably more. Still a lot of work ahead, but nice to know she's mobile after all.

Congrats on the Valiant! Are you in the San Diego area? I think I saw that car for sale. Good to hear it went to a good home. I'm in Escondido; drop me a PM if I can be of help.

    7 1/4 differential drain - 8 point female?

It appears to be a yellow paint dot. Pretty sure the cover wasn't all yellow. My Barracuda was assembled in Los Angeles and has always been a California car.

    7 1/4 differential drain - 8 point female?

Yes, you are correct: 1/2 is required. Thanks! Unfortunately, it appears the previous owner installed it with an impact or pneumatic wrench. That sucker won't move.

    7 1/4 differential drain - 8 point female?

Decided to change the differential oil in my 66 Barracuda. After waiting three days (!) for the gasket to arrive, I am now faced with removing the drain plug so I can refill it. The problem is that I've never seen a tool to fit this plug: I can't find a replacement plug or cover...
