    [FOR SALE] 1967 Barracuda fastback

One more thing I forgot to mention. This will NEVER be a "nice" car. It's set up to be a track day car that is loud and obnoxious, just the way they ought to be...

    [FOR SALE] 1967 Barracuda fastback

THIS CAR DOES NOT RUN. My son's Barracuda is back on the market (it was for sale a long time ago). This car started life with a slant and an auto, but early on is became a 440 powered drag car. To say that the 440 install was a hack job would be a gross understatement. We got with no engine or...

Should i even bother with with getting a higher compression ratio?

Unless you need pistons it's not worth the cost, especially with the available fuel. I suspect my 440 is around 7.5 with a 284/.484 cam. While I haven't driven it yet, I think I will be happy with it. It's just a simple street cruiser.

    Classic Auto Air

I do have a factory duct that I plan on using instead of their cheap plastic vents. So, it will look more factory than not. The brackets I made move the condenser forward by about 1/2" The radiator (Cold Case) should wind up about an inch behind it. The radiator will go back in soon.

    Classic Auto Air

Yes, 440. And, not an original AC car. If it was I would upgrade the factory system. We did that in my old '67 fastback when we put the 383 in. We never got it all sealed up and charged, but it all fit.

    Classic Auto Air

We've discussed their perfect fit system as being anything but. I did get the heater core tubes bent to fit and the large AC tube moved so it will fit the blower motor hole in the firewall (no pics of that). I will need to make a new cover. A while back I grabbed the condenser and tried to fit...

    Odd shifter problem, need advice

The stop bolts are only on the aftermarket shifters. Factory shifters did not have them.

    Odd shifter problem, need advice

I have always found that 90w is too thick. We run 80-90 in my son's 18-spline. It has some wear on second that if the shifter is adjusted "properly" it pops out of gear. One turn longer on every rod keeps it in every gear.

Big Block A body K frame

Looks like '68-69 factory big block K-member. As for value, they have had no consistency over the years as far as value goes. The market is relatively small.

Big Block A body K frame

Post pics. I am less an expert on the '67-69 K-members than I am on Direct Connection K-members, but without pics we're just guessing.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

The house behind us (only about 20' away) caught fire in June from electrical wiring to the HVAC. The house had a steel roof installed over the original wood shingles. The steel caused issues for the fire fighters as they were not familiar with it or how to peel it off.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

Yes, we were on their radar due to the same neighbor claiming that I was running a repair shop and then I was stalked by a code enforcement "officer". That apparently got him fired...

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

Around here, anything 120 sq ft or smaller requires no city notification. A neighbor might call on a structure and code enforcement might come out with a tape measure, but that's where it ends.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

My son is outside Grass Valley. They were not allowed to put in a paved driveway (probably around 150'). The gravel was just laid on the dirt. It is unlikely the little single lane bridge over the creek to get to their place will support 70k lbs. Weird rules all over...Also, it would be very...

What type of dart do I have?

My old '66 Commando four speed had a 7-1/4. 10/19/65 SPD. After I broke the right axle and the previous owner had broken the other axle and two sets of spider gears I replaced it with a '67 3.23SG 8-3/4. The previous owner bought it in 1975 and I bought it in late 1980 (broke the axle in Oct. 1981).

What type of dart do I have?

There's no question that every D/Dart had an 8-3/4 from the factory. By 1967 it wasn't uncommon to find an 8-3/4 behind a 273 four barrel/auto. So, when it happened with four speed cars is unknown, but it was after October 1965. Also, it was not indicated on the fender tag.

What type of dart do I have?

Disc brakes were a factory option starting late in the 1965 model year. 8-3/4 was available on '66 A-bodies, but not every four speed car had one. The only other rear end available in 1966 was the 7-1/4. 8-1/4 didn't arrive until 1973.

Cooper Cobra vs BFG Ta's on 2nd gen cuda

One more thing. If you're buying either of these tires and mount them blackwall out you are wasting your money. Toyo, Kumho, and others make a much better tire for less money.

Cooper Cobra vs BFG Ta's on 2nd gen cuda

After the last set of BFG I ran, never again. They all leaked out the tread while sitting in a shed and were not that old. That was a 1996 set. I put Cobras on my old fastback, but sold it soon after so I cannot give any reviews on the tires. As for the Coopers being the "best bang for the buck"...

    Repairing rear arm rests

One more thing. I am considering making a speaker box that will fit where the arm rests are in my '67 Barracuda convertible. I will then make a new arm rest for the top. Even though my side panels are far from perfect I don't want to cut speaker holes in them. If the boxes come out good I will...

    Repairing rear arm rests

All of mine look like that. I also had a tab break off one of my originals back in the 1980s. I was able to use a screw to hold it on. I will probably attempt to fix mine. I like black rtv for a lot of things and will probably try that.

    Dart Convertible Top Cylinders

I'm planning on going with these (Dart and Barracuda use the same cylinders). Made in the USA and the price is decent. Top- 1967, 1968, 1969 Barracuda- PAIR

    Tips for garage equipment?

Whatever you get now, you will add to it later. My favorite tool is the high speed 3" cutoff tool. With that you will need an air compressor. Buy the largest, most CFM you can afford.

    340 cam change

We have both 440 A-bodies and a 340 A-body. While I love the 340 and it is likely not a lot slower than the 440, the 440 pulls light a freight train on the low end which the 340 really will never do without a lot of gear and then wouldn't be fun (for me) on the street.

The topless adventures of Cuda Al

We welded the aftermarket sway bar frame brackets to the K-member in my son's fastback. They are too flimsy otherwise, especially with the BIG bar.

What type of dart do I have?

Two barrel four speed A-bodies from the factory are rare, but they are out there. Also no cutout on '66 or '67 Darts for the big resonator tip.

What type of dart do I have?

Shifter is NOT a Hurst, it is the original non-console Inland unit. Also known as the "wet noodle".

BB K-member Weight OEM vs DC

The DC K-member is a modified small block K-member with a little more metal added that really wasn't necessary. BUT, the late K-member does have two large holes in the bottom that probably lighten it a bit. I have my '68 small block k-member out of the car and a stock '73-up k-member out of the...
