Duster Breaks FAST Small Block Record

I’ve always been curious what would be the best combo with a similar to FAST spirit. As in I have a 72. Run 68-70 manifolds. Then whatever year has best intake, whatever year has best carb, etc.. It’s not all year correct but is factory stuff and to the undiscerning, not noticeable. Of course...

    Tips for the track?

I’ve raced at 2 tracks and never been called on no overflow. KCIR and heartland in Topeka. I’ll bring a bottle and zip ties just in case. I’m on street tires and steel wheels. I doubt I’ll get much flack.

    Tips for the track?

Ok good to know. I’m guessing by now I’m probably 300ish hp. Never any wheel hop in any street action. Not sure if that will be changing on a prepped track. We will see.

    Tips for the track?

Yeah would be cool but just not in the cards right now unfortunately.

    Tips for the track?

Springs are less than 2 years old. I’m running the Espo set. I’ve never gotten wheel hop on the street. Have a pinion snubber if that helps at all.

    Tips for the track?

Awesome good to know. Will it affect drivability since it’s a street cruiser?

    Tips for the track?

Brand new track. Flying H in Odessa MO. Good idea. I will reach out to the track and see what they have to say. I don’t have an overflow, driveshaft loop, or open lugs. Thanks for the tips!

    Tips for the track?

Excuse my ignorance, but is this supposed to help with weight transfer/traction? Can they easily be put back on?

    Tips for the track?

Thanks guys. I will go over these items and make sure all is well. I assume I’ll be in the 14s. Would be tickled to flirt with 13s but I just don’t think it has it in it.

    Tips for the track?

Haven’t had my car at the track since 2007. Back then it was basic rebuild 318 with 2.76 gears manifolds, and ran 15.2s. Zero traction issues. Today it’s still the 318 but with ported and bigger valve 302 heads and headers, same .480 lift cam, 2800 stall, and 3.92s. I imagine traction may be a...

Glad to hear it's running and you figured out the melting cam sensors. So what is the plan on preventing that in the future? Also totally wild that someone would put a tracker on your car!

    [SOLD] M&H drag radials

I believe 1018 is October 2018. Prior owner bought them new, ran them once then dismounted and put them in finished basement. I’ve had them in my garage about a month, realized I’m probably not gonna have time to mess with my car anytime soon, so I’d rather send them out.

    [SOLD] M&H drag radials

Have some M&H Racemaster drag radials up for grabs. 235/60R15. They were ran once on the track and gripped too much for his converter and gears. I bought them off him but am not going to get around to using them. Always stored inside. Super clean. Still have the nibs on them. Asking $325 obo...

    My first car 72 Scamp

Good weekend in the Scamp. Got to see some good friends, hit a car show and cruise, and got to put some miles on the car. Also my car won it’s first trophy in my 18 years of ownership so that was cool. Local kids at the career center judged so I guess they appreciated something different. Black...

    302 head progress and questions

Car fired up and running. Lightly ported my intake. Didn’t go as far on the heads as others but did significant work and 3 angle valve job, plus having 1.88/1.60s in them. Headers. Car is an entirely different animal. Runs good and I’m pleased. Thanks for the input everyone.

    A little more oomph

Well here’s what I ended up doing: I bought some 302 heads that already had 1.88/1.60s in them. I spent about 18 hours porting them after watching videos, especially @MOPAROFFICIAL videos on porting 302s (thanks btw). I did not do quite as much as he did on the videos but I did as much as I was...

    My first car 72 Scamp

Finally got it fired up! Ran into some issues with manifold Fitment. I think these 302 heads may have been milled a little. We wallered (redneck word) out the holes a little and got it to bolt down and seal. Fired it up open headers. Man it was a blast. Did a quick tune and brought it out for...
