    Aluminum heads

I like this idea, I wasn’t sure if this was something I could do but I did think about it. Thanks, I’ve been thinking about going aluminum for along time. But now that I have to remove the heads anyway I was going to do it, I just wasn’t sure which head to go with. Especially with the lack of...

    Aluminum heads

Yes sir you are correct it is .040. I had read a thicker head gasket didn’t lower compression as much as I would think. I’m not 100 percent as I only read it. And I thought a head gasket being thicker may make it easier to push out? Like I said I’m not a engine builder, I did build mine but may...

    Aluminum heads

Thanks! I did have it tuned and dyno’d a summer or two ago I’m not even sure how long it’s been time flys. I have a coworker who runs a blower car offer to lock out my timing but I’ve heard good and bad so I just left it. I was just thinking while I had the heads off anyway it would be a good...

    Aluminum heads

So I pushed out a head gasket and am looking into some aluminum heads to replace the Rhys/Indy lax heads I have on it now. I’m going to put cometic mls head gaskets back on and am looking at the speed masters on jegs sight that say in stock. I’m looking at these ones PCE281.2148 because it says...

    Worth the switch?

So I just came across a old video where they put some trickflow 190 heads on a small block 410 stroker. I looked around on the web and it seems these heads are sold out everywhere I looked. So here’s the question and I know it goes along with how fast u wanna go,do u race and all that. But I...

    Cowl hood

has anyone got a cowl hood on their 67-69 dart? I typed cowl hoods in on google and a picture of a silver 69 with a cowl hood popped up that said the pic is from forabodys. I have a 6-71 on my 68 dart and would like to put a cowl hood on it that would still show the carburetors and maybe top of...

318/410 What do you think (posting for a friend not my engine)

Before I did a stroker 318 I read a article in mopar magazine that did a 402 stroker I think it was called iron lung sucker punch. Good read, mines a 392 40 over super fun. U might take a look. I believe there pros and do the testing before making a 402 cu. stroker. I’m sure there’s a reason...

    Fire extinguisher

So I haven’t been on here in awhile, but just came across a weird episode with my 68 dart. So my hi flow water pump swallowed the coil wire in the lower radiator hose wrapped it up and broke the seal so it stared leaking through the weep hole on the bottom of the pump. Replaced it with another...

    Dyno’d it today

Yep, it’s a 4speed. I think with the 40 overbore it turns out to be 392ci.

    Dyno’d it today

It just has a champion radiator a thermostat and twin fans just the summit brand. I don’t remember which ones but they cool it well, it doesn’t get hot at all. I put in a switch to turn the fans on manually just in case but I’ve never needed to. And it is mini tubbed with 325/15 Mickey Thompson...

    Dyno’d it today

Your right dyers asks what boost you plan on running but depending on your motors breath ability you may end up with a little more or a little less. My pulleys were ordered for 8lbs of boost but I got 5lbs. But 5lbs of boost on my dart is more than enough for what I do with it.

    Dyno’d it today

I think you can get as much as it’s willing to give till it breaks.

    Dyno’d it today

I agree a blower sticking out of your hood is the definition of cool. I know turbos and pro chargers can make awesome power but I’m not into spending a bunch of time and money fixing and re-buying the stuff I already bought after breaking it at the track.

    Dyno’d it today

So I had my car in the shop today to get it tuned by people who do it for a living. When I took it in i told them right off it’s not a race car and I’m not hunting for max hp I just would like it to be dialed in and running great when I get it back. So it runs sweet and I don’t plan on taking it...

Why are there so few blown small blocks?

I did buy the kit. Everything fit up great no problems at all. It’s a mp electronic dist no clearance issues. I don’t have pics of the manifold sorry. As far as the Manifold, I hate to critique anyone’s welds as I’ve been under a hood my whole life. But u can’t see the manifold under the blower...

Why are there so few blown small blocks?

I put one on my small block dart. I’m doing some work to it at the moment, before I pull it out of the garage. But your right, u don’t see many small blocks with blowers on them.

Sweet, that is a big hole. Now I just have to make time and make it happen. Thanks.

Water / meth injection with rootes blower

Did the car have to use a lift off hood to clear the air cleaner? I'm asking because mine sit pretty high an I've been putting off trying to make the hood fit. Mines a 68 dart. I had a guy tell me there wouldn't be much hood left after the larger hole is cut an the hood may bend in the middle...

Water / meth injection with rootes blower

I have the stage 2 on mine. I originally had it on a single carb smaller supercharger and worked great. I have the same kitt under to 750 dp carbs on a 6-71 that's set up for full throttle before it comes on. I still haven't had my foot to the floor yet. And I have it on a 50/50 mix. But can...

    power valve size

Looks like one of the power valves was damaged. I probably messed it up some how when I was trying to adjust it. I’m more like a monkey in a china shop then a bull. But orielley’s had a couple 3.5 power valves on hand. I swapped them out an adjusted the mix screws some and it’s back up and...

“Wahla” it’s running great. Now I just need to find the time to hook up the a/f gauge an do some tuning. Thanks again!

    power valve size

Thanks Brian6pac that’s the kinda info I was looking for. I’m not sure why it ran for so long the first time an then fouled out so quick after I messed with the carbs. But I was wondering about the pv size I just wasn’t sure exactly how the ref pv manifold pressure thing was supposed to be...

    power valve size

I get what your saying. And I appreciate your input for sure. I am definitely a novice when it comes to messing with carburators. But when I bought this style of carburetor on the specs page it says these are designed to work specifically with roots style superchargers and have a boost ref pv...

    power valve size

Yep you must be doing something right. Yes four corner, I looked at trans slot when I started. And I agree I don’t know why 10.5 pv. I will probably mess with it before next week when I call dyers. I’ll just go back to the start. And try again. I did have one of these carbs on a smaller...

    power valve size

They get there signal from manifold pressure.there made for roots style superchargers 80573S are the carburators I have. All I can figure is I must have messed up some were because it was running way better before. But like a body bomber said and I never thought about calling dyers, they...

That’s a good idea. Being how they said 750 carbs are the way to go I bet your right, thanks I’ll call em on Tuesday after the holidays.

    power valve size

Well I have 6 vac at idle. I ran around town with it an even took it out to thunder mountain to a car show before it started to foul the plugs. It ran super strong didn’t smoke but I kinda thought it still was a little rich. I decided to go back and Make sure the floats just trickled out the...
