    My Dad's 67 Satellite- A bittersweet day

Such a great story. So glad your dad got to have his wish come true with that one last burnout. I'm sure it brought back a lot of memories for him. He's trusting you to take good care of his baby and I know you'll do him proud. Sweet looking car. Best wishes to all in your family.

    china wall sealant??

Right Stuff for me. Bought some cork/rubber Fel-Pro gasket sheets in different thicknesses, traced out the gaskets with the thickness I needed and layed them down with some Right Stuff. No leaks. I hate oil leaks and so far this has worked the best for me.

Received a very nice thank you from Edelbrock today.

I had a similar issue a few years back with a set of Eddie smb heads. Called the high up the ladder Tech guy and when it was all said and done, I shipped my heads back to Edelbrock and a new set of heads were shipped to me free of charge. I too over the years have learned that screaming and...

Counterfeit Carter M6866 mechanical fuel pumps being sold on Amazon. Buyer beware!

The Carter on my Dart that I kept from way back in the day, also has a "narrowed" section for added clearance to the timing chain. I bought a new M6866 way back before the slants took over everything that use to be Made in the USA. Lots of "imposters" posing as "Genuine" nowadays. Buyer Beware...

    833 rebuild

He rebuilt my 4 sp and all was good. But that was 15 years ago, so things with him must have changed as I had both good service and no problems after the work was done. But things do change as we all know.

Dodge unveils last super-fast gasoline muscle car, Challenger SRT Demon 170

It was a joke. Yes I know the Germans made VW's and they were simple transportations. But they still "milked" the concept for years.

    Head gaskets for 360

Those dowel "locating" pins are there for a reason. Without them, the head gaskets are all over the place. Pull the heads, install the pins and start over.

What disc swap kits will work with Cragar 14x6 rims?

I always wondered about that. Wish I had done a little more research back when, I would have used the factory setup.

What disc swap kits will work with Cragar 14x6 rims?

I converted my Dart using a SSBC kit. My Cragars (14x6) wouldn't clear the calipers. Had to use spacers on the hubs and grind off the corners of the calipers so they would clear the center hub spoke welds along with grinding off some of the weld where the spokes are attached to the wheel. Not...

    Doug’s or tti headers

Doug's fit better on my Dart than the TTI's did at the Z-bar. The dogleg on the Z-bar would hit the pipe right in front of it when the pedal returned to park. Had to cut and reweld it back a few degrees for clearance. Switched to Doug's and had more clearance. Redid the Z-bar leg back to the...

Has a lot of old school hot rodding been lost?

You sound like me. I took Auto Shop for 2 years in High School and was curious about everything. We had tear down engines along with some new engines donated to the school from Ford and Chrysler. A 289, 240 truck motor and a 383 4barrel motor with a Torqueflite trans for winning the National...

Has a lot of old school hot rodding been lost?

I feel the same way as you do. So many of my old time engine builder buddies are getting out of the hobby due to a number of reasons, mainly health in most cases and they talk the same about the things done in the past that are no longer done because the skill set died when Joe or Don or Bob...

Valve cover clearance with Hughes roller rockers

Running factory stock valve covers with Hughes rockers on my motor. Had to run a thicker gasket underneath to get some extra clearance. But as stated above, they do make valve cover spacers in different thicknesses if you need more clearance. Depends on what covers you choose to use I guess.
