Yes. When we installed the cam we verified TDC and degreed it. It was 2 degrees retarded so we added a 2 degree offset key. We double checked it but I guess it's possible that we installed in backwards. That's why I asked if a retarded cam could cause this. Unless anyone has any other...

I don't have an old one. We're converting the car from a slant 6 to a 318. The radiator core is 26 x 18 and the center of the fan opening is offset about 1 1/2" to the passenger side and about 3/4" to the bottom based on some measurements I took with the radiator in the car. Thanks, ken
