    5.7 hemi swap wiring question

The diagrams are great. If you have a stand alone trans there are Ram 2500/3500 manual trans pcm's available using only three of the plugs (C1, C2and C3). An Automatic pcm can be flashed with manual software, but there can be tuning issues. (been there with a 03 auto pcm) When doing a retro...

    A518 vs 727

I realize this is a old thread, but just to bring it forward a little. I have a A518/46RH in my hemi powered 2003 Ram replacing the 545RFE. It is as close to plug and play as it gets using the Ram cross member and driveshaft..

w2 stroker, you are in luck! The three manifolds I know about were shipped out quickly. You should have yours on by the weekend. Make sure to post pictures...

I got mine from Jegs but they look the same. Keep in mind my rails are Modern Muscle fuel rails and are 3/4" in diameter. I would measure your rails and confirm their diameter before ordering.

I have no experience with the other manifolds, but I can say I have excellent drivability and transition into boost is smooth. I believe the manifold has excellent low end torque. My engine has a pretty good cam and BV heads and idles better than it did with the OEM manifold. This is using a 03...

Not an A Body but as a 46RH trans running Joe's manifold and a Paxton S/C.

    5.7 Hemi bolts

If you tend to pull your engine apart somewhat often then I would recommend studs. They can be reused and are stronger and pull down smoother than OEM. The initial cost is higher but being able to reuse them makes up for it quickly. I use ARP and can't say anything about other brands.

70 Duster Eagle Hemi Swap, No Spark!

With no crank sensor signal the ASD shuts down in 3-5 seconds turning off the fuel pump, injectors and coils.
  10. R

    RPM at 70MPH

    That looks like a 26" tall tire. At 60mph with a 4:10 = 2580. With a 3:73 it would be 2341 and 3:55 is 2228. Looks to me a 3:55 would work for you.
  11. R

    RPM at 70MPH

Hate to sound contrary, but what we have found with the heavier trucks is that the hemi likes 2100-2300 at cruise and gives the best fuel mileage in that range if running free, meaning not pulling extra weight. The lower rpms cause the engine to lug a little and needs more pedal to accelerate or...

    RPM at 70MPH

The 545RFE has a lockup converter. ie no slippage at cruise. How tall are your tires?
  13. R

    RPM at 70MPH

You can do the math, but the 545RFE has a 0.67:1 5th gear and will live nicely with a 3:90 gear.
  14. R

    RPM at 70MPH

I found my hemi likes 2200 this is 65mph with 4:10 gear, 29 inch tires and A518 trans.

Those are Summit 12AN Stainless Steel cable clamps. They are stiff and hold the rails tight.

I finally found some time to install the manifold and I can say I'm very pleased with the result although I haven't done any road testing other than warming it up and checking the idle and revving it up some. The idle is solid and the engine is very crisp. This is running on a 03 PCM and has a...

    Hemi won't fire

This is a aftermarket piece that fits the stock fuel rails and provides a 1/8th npt female port you can screw in a pressure gage or electrical sensor. Since you have the stock pump you should be able to hear it run for a few seconds after the engine stops cranking. If it cranks, then tells you...

The 03-05 hemi's have a high tension wire for its waste spark. The 06+ use what is called dual coil and has no external wires. This is a picture of an 03 engine with SoS coils..

Also like to point out that folks using carburetors have a very limited selection of manifolds. And with seriously ported heads you will find this manifold makes a solid seal where as the OEM manifold it's a crap shoot at best. I'm very close to running, just waiting on a few more pieces, but...

    Hemi won't fire

What PCM are you using? If it is an 03 it require 48psi if newer then 58psi at the fuel rail. Normal startup the pump and coil will remain energized for 3-5 seconds after the engine stops cranking. This is determined by the crank sensor sending a signal to the PCM to keep the ASD relay energized.

This pertains to folks who are using a engine out of a truck and retaining the truck's front mounted accessories. The alternator sits high and back. This will interfere with aftermarket fuel rails. I'm still waiting on a couple fitting to complete the fuel feed, but this is where I'm currently at.

    Intake manifold spacers

Super nice work, but seeing them instantly made me think how badass would it be to make them out of machineable ceramic? They would insulate a lot of temperature from the manifold.

I would also think the FAST system needs to cycle a couple of times to adapt to new parameters. My much tuned 03 PCM certainly does....

    Starting and idling problems

I've never had a PCV rattle like that. But I've never run a car manifold. I'd take it out and block it to see if it will make a difference. Your computer might be sensing a change in AFR and takes a little to catch up. I've used magasquirt but not Fast.

Sorry brother can't help you with that. But I don't believe you have a fuel pressure problem.
  29. R

    Starting and idling problems

The fuel pressure dropping off when it's turned off is not the problem with it running rough. Mine drops to zero after sitting. Just cycle the key twice and it should start right up. Are getting any codes? I have found if it starts and idles ok and then quickly goes to hell, it is the tune or O2...

    Starting and idling problems

On the original truck fuel rails there is a Schneider valve forward on the passenger side. When changing injectors it normally requires scaling the new injector to get them right, The stumble and then smoothing could well be the PCM adapting to the injectors being out of trim. Can you data log...
