Yes I would have to agree, sounds identical. At first when I saw all the little things it really didn't mean much. It was the timing marks on the balancer that finally made me go, what do I have here? So it's cool. I'm making the truck into my daily driver to save miles on my 2500 which will...

It was orange at one point. I found traces of orange paint on the back of the heads. I wonder what it came out of?

    318 gurus/historians

Yeah after some time to do some research, no X on the front of the block, so nothing all that special. But still 360 heads are a bonus. Already have intake, 4bbl carb and headers to go with!

Any help? I guess when the thread drops of the main page, no more help. @Dan the man, @RustyRatRod

No, it's on a '70 Duster. I added them, plus headers and dual exhaust!

The best thing with mine was a 2bbl carb and electronic ignition! Then the headers and dual exhaust. Admittedly I’m a little bored with it now. But it is sweet

The VIN on the block A116065 and what looks like the top of an 8 in front of the A. The numbers on the front of the block under the drivers head are 2 letters 318 02120081. The head casting numbers are 4027596.

I'm not expecting it to be much, just curious. The orange paint was on the back of both heads, not like totally covered, just spots. At first I thought it was flash rust from giving it a pressure washer bath. But when I looked closer there was blue paint over it and you could take your...

It's a 318, didn't research the casting numbers. I was sitting here at work wondering. I need to look at the intake also, it's 2bbl, but like I said it's been removed before or swapped.

Someone tell me what I have. I bought a '77 D100, neat little truck, I've had many. It had sat for 18 years in a metal shed. 318 auto with air, P/S, P/B and the adventurer package. I slowly brought it back to life, and it ran great. Having sat for so long, it started leaking oil, trans fluid and...

    Leaking 727

Yes I replaced the shift shaft seal, slip yoke seal and the oring on the dipstick tube. Well then of course the pan gasket and filter. I sprayed brake cleaner all around to clean everything up. That's how I know it is coming from the front band adjuster. Thanks for the tips. I didn't know if I...

    Leaking 727

I know Jack Diddley about transmissions. Well, the inner workings at least. I have a 727 that had sat for 18 years in the truck. When I got it running it performed flawlessly but started leaking everywhere. I replaced the seals and gaskets which sealed it up nice. Just sitting and running, and...

I’ve had 3 LRE’s in the past. I have another 79 step side that is red but not an LRE.

    Interior Dyes/paints

It's a '77. Sweet truck, it had sat since '04 till I found it in February this year. Cleaned the tank and replaced the rest of the fuel system and it runs like a top. I haven't even touched anything else. I just need to get something on the plastic dash before it turns to dust. They are very...

    Interior Dyes/paints

I put this in general discussion because it's a Dodge D-100. The plastic dash has faded. I have used SEM spray can dye/paint before but I am not finding the color I need. I will need to paint the plastic dash, padded glove box door and the door panels so everything matches. What other products...

Going to try for a new tow vehicle

Traded my '17 2500 6.4L hemi in on a '21 2500 CTD. 6.4 got 14-15 mpg empty and 9-10 mpg with my camper. Owners manual said regular 87 acceptable, 89 recommended. I used 89, tried to use 87, sucked mileage and performance. The new truck gets 19-20 mpg empty and 11-12 mpg with the same camper. And...

    Two mopar truck questions

Looking at the jumper wire between the flashers, someone either had a problem or hooked up some kind of accessory. IDK. The black strip you refer to will be hard to find, the only way I know how to get one is spare parts. And be careful with it, it will very brittle. Ask me how I know!

    Proportioning valve repair

Man, you guys are great! I've never have had a problem with a proportioning valve in all my years of wrenching. I never would've thought there is all that much stuff to it, or even a rebuild kit for it. I guess I should have googled it first, but I thought nah no way. Thanks for the pictures...

    Proportioning valve repair

Has anyone ever had on of these apart? Mine was stopped up to the back brakes. So I took it apart and cleaned it the best I could. My question is, is there a o ring on this plunger in that groove. It was nothing but white chalky stuff.

    Wheels worth anything?

My county is having a tire forgiveness day coming up, so I'm getting rid of a bunch of used tires. I am not using the original wheels that came off of my /6 Duster, 14" sbp. I figure if they are not worth anything, I could haul them to the scrapper on my next trip, or sell them. What say you?

    Brainfart rebuilding front suspension!

Update fellas, I couldn't leave it alone, sorry @RustyRatRod . So here's what I did, I have a couple of old (read good) Craftsman tire tools (my dad called them spoons) that are unbreakable. I got a piece of 4ft long iron pipe and slipped over the tire tool and pried, got a cramp in my back and...
