My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

I still need to drill the pushrod holes and check everything for clearance. The short block is all machined and ready to assemble. Hope to have it on the dyno this winter.

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Makes it very easy to get down the runners. Being able to radius the entry damn near to the pad flange is nice too!

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Small update. Finished the bowl / throat areas on the heads, also went over all the exhaust ports with a crossbuff wheel ( 1st time using those, will be buying more). They are now ready to go back to the machine shop to have the valve job done. Also spent some time on the intake manifold. Laid...

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Heads are back on my bench so that i can finish up the bowl / ss port work, then they willl be going to the machine shop for a valve job. I ended up getting all new Ferrea valve guides sized for 8mm stems, and will be running 2.08/1.6 Ferrea 8mm +.100 LS style valves. This will help with overall...

    shimming hydraulic roller lifters solid

Do you by chance have any pictures from this ?

    shimming hydraulic roller lifters solid

I've also seen it suggested to find a snap ring that fits in where the factory wire clip is that holds the internals in the body.

    shimming hydraulic roller lifters solid

Can you disassemble one and share some pictures of what's inside?

    shimming hydraulic roller lifters solid

Not quite a solid conversion, but when I was cleaning my last set of magnum rollers, I happened to have a set of factory ls1 roller lifter in the shop. After tearing them both apart I realized that the internals are the same diameter between the two. So I took the ls internals and put them into...

    [SOLD] M/P 360 forged crank

Is it setup for internal or external balance?

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Litte progress update, spent some time detailing the chambers and the spark plug hole. Then turned my attention to the exhaust ports. Mainly just a port match and smoothing, did a little bit of blend work where the large divot is in the back of the port just above the seat. Also laid the SS over...

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

I tubed them both and port to it just for safe measure.

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

I did not, that way if I had to do any welding in the port I wouldn't have to fight with cleaning it out 1st. Once I have the new push rod holes drilled I'm going to weld both ends of the plugs shut so there will be no chance of a leak. But from what I've seen thus far I'd be willing to bet the...

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

No big updates today, just going along and repeating the ports across the head. A little thing I found to help keep the shapes the same from port to port was a piece of welding wire bent to the profile and use it as a checking gauge. This was very handy in the area where the pinch was removed...

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Lol. My turbo engine already has a set of mildly ported edelbrocks on it.

For now they will be going on a sbe 5.9 mag with a 242/[email protected] .600/.600 110 cam. Have another engine on the stand to be built and will either be going compression and cubes or a supercharger. Haven't decided on that yet.

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

As of right now, no offset lifters. just going to live with what i get as far as pushrod angle. I will be running 1.6 rockers though.

What dont you like about it? And what would be a better intake to go with in your opinion?
  18. turboking15

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Here's some pics of the intake. I've welded / machined the flange to a true 4150 flange, added a 2" spacer, and port matched the runners. Also radius the top edge from the plenum into the runners.

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Itll work with any standard mopar intake manifold. The port opening is matched to a 7276 edelbrock gasket. I have a ported M1 intake that will be going on this combo.

The heads or the shafts were improperly machined?
  21. turboking15

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Yeah, Im going to use the hughes .350 offset rockers they sell for their big mouth heads.
  22. turboking15

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

Yes, I bought 15mm aluminum round stock (.600" dia), drilled the pushrod holes out with a 17/32 drill bit, then turned the bar stock down to roughly .532 dia, then pressed them into the holes.

My attempt at speedmaster heads and moving the pushrod.

After finding out my old iron heads couldn't be saved I figured it was time to dig out the SM castings I bought a few years ago. And of course I can never just take the easy route. ( whats the fun in that. Lol) So after studying all of Pbr's porting threads and then some, I decided it was time...

Plumbing coolant to center freeze plug

I welded fittings to the sides of the timing cover to feed the block. I'm also running a remote mount electric pump.

Plumbing coolant to center freeze plug

I think that would be too small of a passage and too far away from where you need the extra cooling. I ended up using the freeze plug closest to the timing cover and have an elbow threaded on the inside of my aluminum plugs that point up to between the exhaust ports. I haven't fired the motor...

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

I cant seem to find the writeup at the moment, but you can trim the cover on the back of the alternator and bolt on a 3g ford alternator terminal turning your rear post into a top post. Google Image Result for https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/gm8AAOSwWH1cOMvM/s-l300.jpg heres the terminal
