    65 dart revival

Nice work! I would highly recommend using the Dr. Diff master cylinder adapter to move it over that 3/4” or so. I did manage to squeak a heat shield in under the MC on my valiant. Will need to add some lava mat before next race season. Also had to hack into the passenger shock tower to fit the...

I hammered the pinch weld flat around the bell housing area, but it didn’t take much to make it fit. Also put a healthy dent where my 90* AN fitting attaches to the rear tranny line port.

I think you’re looking at some heat sleeves on the tranny lines

Thank you, RRR! Here’s the first test run, seems to hook pretty good so far.

Ha! It’s definitely raising some eyebrows with the other racers. I put down some passes at the track last night and everything held together. A few small adjustments and it’ll be ready for the Mopar nationals this Sunday

    64 Valiant 440 build

Tires just barely rub on the inside tub when going around a corner. I’m gonna have to add some spacers and roll the outer fender lip to make it right. Will possibly push the outer fender out a hair with the porter power ram to get some clearance for sanity. I’m thinking 1/4 in. spacers and 3”...

Aaaaand voila’! No bondo for now, too burnt out to mount the slicks on tonight (have to remove the lower coil over bolt and drop down the rearend to squeeze the tires in). Back at it tomorrow

Thanks, I actually enjoy building headers and exhaust. Maybe I should invest in a tig welder....

I want get the slicks on, but the rust from this quarter panel is getting everywhere (like in my eyes), so it’s time to go. Also gained some much needed weight reduction when I found this sunken treasure hidden inside!

Thanks, I used an old liquid cooled Miller tig at where I used to work. I can’t remember what model it was. If I were to buy a new welder, I’d go with anything Miller brand, can’t go wrong. Really not a fan of Lincoln

Beautiful ride! Built by the same guys that did the violent valiant, right? I need that hood on my car! Totally agree with doing away with fender well headers, that’s why I “steered” away from them with my build

Thanks Brad, Given the state of the world, I don’t have much else to do but work on this pig. I forgot to mention I switched out the center chunk for a 489 case with 4.10 gears with 35 spline spool and axles. Just need to finish the line lock and to reroute the fuel line and it’s quatermile...

    64 Valiant 440 build

Agreed! My car does sit low compared to the Chevy racers at the strip, but I don’t think I’ll get it as low as the pissed off valiant. It’ll look good with some slicks tucked up in the back

Here’s the comparison of the changed torque arm geometry. Much happier with my new setup. Now just waiting for some wheels to show up and the Hoosiers will go on next!

Next up, I ordered some 1-3/8 .188” wall tubing and built the new arm with my brother in law at his shop this weekend. Braced with 1-1/4” tubing. I feel much better about this one. You can see the difference in spread compared to the Spohn arm.

    64 Valiant 440 build

I decided that because of the sticky tires, I am at risk of breaking my torque arm. I’ve seen on other forums that the geometry of these Spohn torque arms is not great. There’s not enough spread between the rear mounting rod eyes, which causes the adjuster to bend and the top tube to snap. I’ve...

[FOR SALE] Early A power steering parts

I believe you can swap the box by pulling the exhaust manifold and jacking the motor towards the passenger side with the mount unbolted. I’m not positive on that, so don’t hold me to it
