I had some really good Mopar friends that were super honest and had high end cars. They had a friend (they told me) that had bought a new '71 Duster, 340 4 speed, and tried for a year to get a 13 second pass. They tried different RPM launch's and shift points, they tried adjusting the metering...

Underrated? I'd guess so.... 1971 340 = 275 HP 1971 318 = 230 HP So the bigger bore, bigger cam, bigger heads, bigger intake, bigger exhaust, better compression, 4bbl vs 2bbl .... all that is only 45 HP... Hmmm

My goal would be not to modify any components. However, if my TQ is missing the choke, I'm not paying money to find one with a choke and install it. BUT, again... my goal would be NOT to try and find ways to "alter" any part to make more performance, but ONLY use factory parts that may perform...

They aren't anything really more than a 2bbl cam. I seen what George Jet posted, but I'm doubting that totally. That is basically a 340 cam, and no LA 318 came with that in cars in the USA that I've ever found or researched.

Yeah, I'm doubting that bit of info. That may be the Mex-Spec, but not here in the USA.

The 318 "passenger car" cams to me really only come in 2 choices... flat tappet and roller. There really aren't special years that have "hotter cams". There should have been... Seems they did more for the marine world than the street world.

Andy has a full-time job, as does Shane, as do most of us. IF you look at how many channels there actually are (even the ones with 10 subscribers), very few % can actually make their living off of it.

So there's merch... and there's "membership" (this has always been kind of a joke to me) ..... and there's sponsors, among other ways to make money. Even sell products (which is a great way to sell products!)

Ok, so it was all in at just over 3100, and we slowly walked it up to almost 4900. From that range of 3100-4900 it didn't retard even one degree. By ear I'm shifting this at about that rpm being a stock 360. I will say, all in at 3100 rpm's seems quick for factory springs, not sure if the...

I would do a quick timing test, grab a timing light. A 318 with a cam that is behind on timing (ignition) becomes a big dog. Learn a lot in 60 seconds under the hood.

B-body small block manifolds were somewhat used between the two, yes. And, I actually have those. RR's had dual exhaust on 318's, so duals are fair game. As I stated in a earlier post, the exhaust will be the one thing that won't be "factory 318" because I'm not going to pay for a new exhaust...

Yes, i will be using a 4bbl. As I stated above, I already have a cast TQ intake/and TQ. Yes, some 318's came with 360 heads. I won't go to some "unheard of foreign-next to impossible to get" performance part that came on a 318 in Madagascar LOL. I'm thinking what was more available all over...
