Yeah man, life can get the best of you sometimes - been talking with my wife about driving VA to TX to snag up the car and get the floors started or done while we are here. I’ve got a 80x100 Quonset hut at my office so makes stuff super simple lol
Man, been almost 3 years - crazy how time flies.
Well I went home last year and moved the car, put fresh tires and loaded it up; moved it over to another piece of property but, should be back in TX next year - we will see what type of shape my poor old **** box is in and see what I can come up...
What's going on everyone, well I'm working to get the title transfered on my 65 before anything happens to my great grandma.
I bought a 93 dodge dakota since being in Virginia, I couldn't pass $300 cash.
Hope everyone is doing good.
Soooooooo....
Things have kind of changed.. big time...
My more door is going to stay its cozy *** in Texas on my property and we are picking up to move to Virginia, I am already out here but cant officially move till july.

Well, Hello everyone - been a while since I posted here and am officially ready to put money into the project -
I moved to San Angelo in November and left my valiant right south of DFW (Texas) - I sold my turd (2002 Dakota) today and im ready to actually move it out here and get it tore...
Yeah but the shipping on that would kill me. I'm in Texas.
how hard is it to just build floor pans?
Only want to go from under the pedals to right in front of the back seat. 4 foot or so worth on each side. Everything from back seat back looks decent.
Well today had me grinning ear to ear and it wasn't even something that special.
When we dropped it off the trailer it was positioned to far forward in the drive way so I couldn't do anything up front and the tires were locked so I couldn't move it.
Well I finally got it all broke loose and...
Been posting on the Members Resto thread but thought Id share here too.
Since i've cleaned the car out, I have also removed the old gas tank, finally broke free the rear diff. Im going to pull the 7 1/4 out and set it to the side for now. Id like to find a bigger diff.
Ill keep everyone...
Forgot to post yesterday
Disconnected the driveshaft and tore out the seized brakes but rear end still wouldn't spin freely.
The rust had basically "welded" it together.
Little bit of elbow grease and now it spins free.
Yeah doesn't look to be an immediate replacement.
I am looking at amd for pans. All I found is 65 barracuda.
Could I use those up front and have someone build the rest to the back.
Got the truck cleaned out. Surprisingly decent. No holes. Looks like the pan was set in and a putty was used to keep it in place so a few spots you can see through it because putty is gone.
There was probably 300 lbs of dirt, car parts, the stuffing of my back seat, straps that have rotted...
Frame rails are still white from factory lol.
I wish that my grandpa wouldn't have just blocked it up by the barn.
It sank the brink down so that just the floor pans were on the ground so they rotted..
The 273 will be fun eventually.
At this point I want to get the floors redone and wiring re...
Well I got my shop vac working.
Got all the garbage and dirt that's been in it since it was parked out and then ripped carpet up and front seat out.
I found holes.
Only holes in the entire car are floors.
Anyone know where to buy best floor pans?
Well got my shop vac working and got all the dirt and garbage out of the inside of the car.
Then decided to take front seat out and rip up the carpet.
It's the only spot on the car that is actual holes.
Hello,
My car is a one owner vehicle bought in 65 by my great grandfather. He drove it until 1976 when the brake locked up at 51270 on the odometer. He parked the car and left it sitting at his house in Lake Worth. It moved in 1979 to my Grandfather's farm and sat beside his barn and it had...

Hello,
I have a bone stock 65 valiant 4 door 273 V8 auto.
I'm wanting to know good replacement parts as far as front end, (e.i brakes, UC, Shocks, sway bar, steering componants)
And what's a good rear axle to swap into the car?
Rear sway bar set up?
This is my first A body so I'm learning...
So as I cleaned off the gunk on the car yesterday I started realizing that some of the red rust area after being cleaned is actually the red coat of paint underneath the white.
The rust is only bad on the floor pans from where the car sank into the dirt.
Frame is still white from the factory...
