If you are in New England Porter Racing heads should be close enough and can help you achieve your goals.

confusion torsion bars or no torsion bars

The 1 3/4 headers should be fine for all but the wildest applications. I have 2 " and mine rattle off the pass side of the engine bay and one torsion bar (aftermarket 1" bars). Not bad but it does hit.

    1972 340 testing by Nick

I will take 16hp and 22tq every day of the week. And that is just peak. I would imagine gains would be larger in most cases across the curve and hold on longer after peak as well.

[FOR SALE] 1965 Dodge dart GT

Beautiful and ambitious project. Is it a completed running and driving car ? If more work is needed what would that be? More details on transmission, rear end, etc. I am not in the market but I bet it would be a handful and surprise many a fellow.

Big Block Low Deck engine install in 68 Dart

I have a 440 in my 72 Duster with manual steering and I can vouch for the 2" Tti being tight. Mine rattle of the pass fender and a litt;e off of the PST 1.03 torsion bars.

    Intake coices

Depending on the gear ratio and converter I would lean towards a dual plane most likely. Lowish compression and a larger cam = dual plane for low end torque in my book 90% of the time.

    Tailpipe opinion

Some C bodies run them that way and exit at the corner of the bumper. Pretty sure the wagons did that so maybe b body wagons also. There are some listed like that on the Tti website. I want to run it that way on my 72 Newport but don't want to pay what they want for tailpipes. Especially being...

    Your first mopar...?

No pics survived. 1981 I bought a 73 blue Charger with white vinyl top and white bucket seat interior with console. 400 / 727/ 3.23 surefrip 8.75 rear end. That car survived 2 years of me. No small feat. I would love to recreate it if I could afford it. Closest internet pic I could find.

Mild 340 8 3/4 gear and possibly converter question

I tend to err on the side of caution these days. If it is a street car with the occasional trip to the track I would run 3.55 gears. With your short tires it will be more like 3.73. Even with taller tires it will pull fine and the converter will put it on the cam. Remember it is a light car and...

    Best shocks for street performance?

That is where I got mine as well. PST | Bilstein Shocks | Viking Shocks | KYB Shocks If you go kyb try rock auto. They may be cheaper there.

    Best shocks for street performance?

Soft suspension I might stick some kyb on there and call it a day. Upgraded torsion bars, sway bars, etc the Bilstein would get my vote. Bilstein are on my Duster with bigger torsion bars and the ride and handling is fantastic.

I looked at his dyno numbers as a test of what my next build could do. I have a 4.25 crank and cnc ported rpm heads. If I can swing the I would like to try a small solid roller on mine with an M1 intake (already have) and a 1000hp 4150 carb. Be just as happy with a solid flat tappet if I have...

    505 dyno test results

It is a 80/20 car with the 80 being track. 31" tire with 4.10 gears. The old motor didn't rpm as high as this one. Smaller hyd roller and rpm intake. Still did a best of 6.05 @112 on the spray in the eighth. It should be an improvement.

He said 10.8-1 and after 5600 power fell off a cliff. I don't think they pulled it any higher. I wasn't there so I won't speculate. I would have thought a pull to 6000 just to see wouldn't have been out of the question.

    505 dyno test results

617 lb ft at 4100 605 hp at 5600 The engine is Ford blue because it is in a Ford Fairmont of all things. The heavy motor is still under reconstruction with trick flow heads and likely a call to Dwayne for a bigger cam. The car gets a steady diet of a 200 shot of giggle juice at the track as well.
