My search for a shorty D100 is over

Fleetside is Chevys term for the wheel wells on the inside and a smooth box on the outside, the opposite is a stepside in Chevy terms , many refer to Dodge trucks in the same term but it is incorrect Dodge uses Utiline for the fenders on the outside and sweptline for wheel wells on the inside.

My search for a shorty D100 is over

Nice truck! Congrats, I agree with shiny grill not black, personally I'd have to have a chrome front bumper to , but that's my taste, lol, if the 3 spd is a manual I'd convert to floor shift, 3 on the tree is fun for about a week, i know many would disagree but I'd leave the slant and add a cam...

what is the most Desirable A body line

As far as my choice I'm partial to Dusters because my son has had two that I have also spent many hours wrenching on but the Demon is definitely the rarest with the shortest production run AND a great looking car, so either one.

Need some electrical help with my ‘68 Plymouth Valiant 100

So it appears you DO have a intake leak, there is a passage there for coolant from the head so if the red arrow is the area of the leak then it is probably leaking at that gasket you could try putting a wrench on the bolts closest to the leak on the intake and see if there loose but if no go...

Need some electrical help with my ‘68 Plymouth Valiant 100

Your getting excellent advice, AND although you should attack one issue at a time, you mentioned your intake was leaking, where? Are you sure it isn't the thermostat housing on top of the intake ( under the upper rad hose) that is leaking? It is a common issue on those motors and a easy fix...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Not really because it has a ridge at each end about 3/8 inch in, maybe could replicate with a double flare tool but I don't know how a aluminum tube would react, I'll just stick with the orings.

Project Cheap & Nasty Updated With Back Story

Looking good, I'm looking forward to see how this performs, i have a performance cam and lifters for a 225 laying around I had contemplated selling which is left over from my sons previous Duster build but when it got wrecked he got a v8 one now but honestly watching this build has inspired me...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Thankyou, i did watch several videos on this, a couple were from a Holley executive, but what I understand is that the start point is to set them static with the bowl inverted and the float level with the bottom, ( well top actually as it's upside down at this point ) of the bowl, which is...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

1wildrt , yesterday I pulled both the float valves because I was watching a YouTube video stating that sometimes the o-rings that seal them in the bowl leak and can cause flooding so i started second guessing if I missed one, but they were ok as was the float valve itself, I took both the floats...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Well thats what I was thinking, the Holley kit i got fits a multitude of applications and it came with the seals AND o-rings, i remember I couldn't get the seals to fit the first time but I thought I'd try again, i mean I'm a 210 pound guy and I used all the force I had pushing against that...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Well I am now but the seals look more robust so I thought I'd try them, maybe they just won't work on the older 1850 series? The o-rings didn't leak last time so I guess I'll just do it they way I did before.
  22. mopar56

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Yes I did, nothing there and with the orings it just slips together no issues.
  23. mopar56

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Yes, that is what I did today AND previously when I assembled it and installed it, no fuel leaks at all, Just flooding.

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Update, no way I can get the bowls to seat with those seals, I tried 3 in 1 oil, grease, dish soap, I tried putting the seals on the tube first and pushing in the bowls, then I tried pushing the seals in the bowls first and trying to insert the tube, there is literally a good 1/2 inch of space...

    Hello From BC canada

Cool, it's probably 35 min from the ferry there's a neat little country market place about a 10 min walk from the field if you bring someone with you and they don't want to stay at the show in the sun, it gets kinda warm there all day.

    Hello From BC canada

There is a all Mopar car show held in a open field in Coombs over here on the island, this year it is May 25, it's always a amazing show with some beautiful Mopars it's worth the ferry ride over, usual close to 100 cars and growing every year, it's actually put on by another member on this site...

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

Ok, maybe the dishsoap wasn't enough? I'll try a bit of three in one oil tomorrow i attached a few photos for clarity of how I have them orientated but I'll insert on the tube then in the bowls.

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

BTW, i went to a local auto parts store today to get some new o rings which they didn't have, they did have the seals though....32 bucks!! Fortunately i still have the two new ones from the kit i never used but being how expensive they are i don't want to damage them!
  30. mopar56

Holley 1850 fuel transfer tube seals??

It is yes, so do you install the seals on the tube and push in or install in the bowls first? If i put on the tube first then they bulge out and don't want to go in the holes in the bowl, if I put them in the bowls first the tube dosnt want to go in even with dishsoap as lube they seem very tight?
