    Starter solenoid issues

I got around to the car this weekend. I cleaned the battery posts and the terminal connectors. I even wire brushed the ground connection on the engine. I was also going to brush the stranded wires where they attach to the connectors. When I went to loosen up the bolts on the positive terminal...

    Starter solenoid issues

I will get around to cleaning these terminals this weekend. Thanks for all the suggestions. I still have this old box with battery maintenance parts. The box is over 50 years old and stuff inside was last used on my 68 Roadrunner. The amazing thing is that I knew right where this box was.

    Starter solenoid issues

That spark at the positive terminal was freaky. I'm 98% my connections were tight, and I did jiggle the connection to see if the terminal was mushy in the battery. Just a week ago the store said the battery was good, but I'm not sure if they tested it under load.

    Starter solenoid issues

I’m the guy that ran my battery down to zero on my 64 Sport Fury with a 318 poly. As someone pointed out, Battery Tenders will not charge a battery that is completely discharged. So, the store recharged it and since then I have been disconnecting one terminal. About 6 weeks later, I connect the...

Found a Source for 10” rear drums with 1-3/4” shoe

If those drums are in high demand again, it's our fault. Rumor has it that 800 of those drums were on that Chinese balloon, but we shot it down.

    Ads show up again

Ads only at the bottom of the page -- I wish. I get two threads, then ads all the way across the screen. Then 18 more threads, and ads all the across again. I'm certainly reminded of what I've been searching for during the last couple of days.

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

I had a 68 Roadrunner and I also thought the round side-marker lights were cool. Go ahead, I won't vote to ban you from the site.

Just watched possibly the worst movie ever!

Hot Rods to Hell goes WAY back. I'm pretty sure it was in black and white. I don't think the hoodlums were driving Mopars.

Just watched possibly the worst movie ever!

I don't know about that movie, but Dana Andrews -- remember Hot Rods to Hell?

A friend of mine showed me this flashlight a few months ago. I was also impressed.

    Offgassing dash pad ??!?

Years ago I used Armor All on my vinyl dash. It made the dash look nice, but I always had outgassing on the windshield. It was not worth it.

Another gauge corrector--cheaper than MeterMatch, 33.00

I think I'm going to do the same thing. At that price, you can't go wrong.

Another gauge corrector--cheaper than MeterMatch, 33.00

Electronic parts can be put together cheaply, but $33 is almost too cheap. This is one heck of a deal if the quality is good and it will hold up for years. We definitely need some reviews.

I don't know him, but he sure gave good advice.

How much did a gallon of gas cost when you first started driving?

I remember 0.33/gallon at the Oklahoma station. Then during the "gas wars" (which others have mentioned), it went down to 28 cents. No Regular for the Roadrunner, it would only drink the good stuff. I do remember driving from Fresno to Riverside, CA on one tank of gas. I arrived on fumes...

I always thought it might be interesting to start a thread: DMV Horror Stories. Except it might overload the site.

    hello from southern california :)

I'm going to try my best to go to Turlock this Thursday if I can get the day off. If you send your cell phone number to me via a private conversation (at g413) I will look for your part. Also, send how much you are willing to pay. If they are going to crush everything, their price should be...

Losing A Junkyard of Classics - Turlock, CA

Please do keep us informed. Is this one of the two yards right along Hwy 99? They are somewhere near Turlock. Years ago I went to a salvage yard just north of Madera. I was looking at some seats there. About a month later I drove by and it was exactly as said in Post #16.

Can my car kill a battery in 2 weeks?

I found part of the problem. AJ/FormS and others said that a Battery Tender would not charge the battery if the voltage was too low. And you were exactly right. At one time I knew that, but I guess I went brain dead. I took it back to the store, the battery voltage was about 0.1. They were...

Can my car kill a battery in 2 weeks?

Yes, but it should not drain to zero in two weeks. And now it will not even charge.

    anybody hear/use gasket material called

They are an optional seal for centrifugal pumps. I believe we used them on thermal ice storage systems because they are better suited to cold temperatures.

Can my car kill a battery in 2 weeks?

Two weeks ago, my 64 Sport Fury would not start, so I attached the Battery Tender and tried to charge it. The Tender light just kept blinking yellow (meaning the charger is working properly) after many hours. I took the DieHard to Advance Auto Parts since they handle DieHards now that Sears is...

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

You have the same machine that I had. Web research says that this machine goes off at 24,000 hours. You're probably close to that limit.

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

I originally got the machine because a recording device said my oxygen level got down into the low 80s at night. I have been getting along without and only feeling a little tired the next morning. The main reason I'm warning you guys is that if your CPAP goes out, it may be difficult to get a...

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

Thank you gunbunny. I just got my appointment today. They scheduled me for July 18 (4.5 months away!). This is how long it will take to a prescription to get a new machine. I found a place in Southern California that will fix my machine in 1-2 days. It will cost me about $200 out of my...

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

I know, I know. I was actually thinking of making a wise crack like that. Just to give an update, I received a quote of $185 to replace the motor. I will probably choose this method -- to keep the pressure on.

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

I want to thank all of you for your help and suggestions. The exact message said, "Motor life exceeded, please contact service provider." On the Web, it says this message occurs when the fan has run for 24,000 hours. Like bcschief suggested, there are places that service these machines. I've...

Have a CPAP Machine? Beware of GAME OVER

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 6.5 years ago. I was prescribed a ResMed CPAP machine and leased it through Apria. It took some getting used to, but after a short time, it changed my life for the better. I could sleep through the night and wake up rested. What a difference. Last week...
