    Need help on bulkhead wiring

Dart - my son checked for that interlock and did not find one anywhere in the engine bay. He was doing more voltage checks under the dash and while checking the yellow wire out of the ignition switch he put the switch to start had 11 volts and the engine started. It seems like there is a loose...

    Need help on bulkhead wiring

Appreciate that tip on the relay. I will have him go through and look but I don't recall seeing this when the car was with me, that's been about 3 years now. Is that interlock in addition to a starter relay or did this replace the starter relay in 74? That write up by ABODYJOE may just allow...

    Need help on bulkhead wiring

Dart, we have the manuals and I have been working with my son to trace the yellow wire back to see where he loses the voltage. He isn't extremely mechanically savvy but is putting forth the effort nonetheless. he got the bulkhead connector apart and cleaned it up but still no joy yet. I'll pick...

    Need help on bulkhead wiring

Thanks Dart. I've been working with him on FaceTime to try to get this thing going. He has been starting it with a screwdriver jumping the starter solenoid. I am guessing the plastic connectors can be persuaded apart with a small screwdriver to get the two halves apart.

I have one from a Dart, not sure of the PN but can check it at lunchtime and shoot a pic, I do know it is not in the best of shape. EDIT--I only have the section that covers the area around the bezel you need, sorry, I thought I had one.

    San Diego Area Assist Request

I am looking to see if there are any FABO members in the San Diego area that may be able and willing to lend me a hand. I recently shipped my 73 Dart to my sons who live in San Diego and they are having an electrical issue that I have been unsuccessful in troubleshooting over the phone/Facetime...

    Instrument panel light bulbs

I didn't have good luck with LED's when I tried them in the dash on my 73 Dart. Don't forget that LED's come in two types, dimmable and non-dimmable. Not sure that will be an issue feeding them directly with DC.

    Craigslist Rant

On a little different subject but still a Craigslist Rant, this one always makes me laugh. I guess it is up to me this year to clear up the "what is firewood" mystery. I will first tell you what firewood, or fire wood,is NOT. If you have a log that is ten feet long and twenty four inches...

How To Fix Leaking Wiper Pivot Seals

I don't have any pics to help out but on my 73 there is a small retaining clip that sort of arches inward toward the post the arm mounts on, this is on the bottom side of the arm, hard to see at first look. If you have a small flat blade screwdriver, I used the adjusting screwdriver that you get...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

So it doesn't hook to the gasket at all, just lays on top of it? I had that started last night and it just didn't look right. If that is all it does then I should be good to go, thanks for the info Redfish.

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

I have all of the leaks fixed now except for one in the body seam on the upper left corner of the trunk, will get to that next. I do have a question though. Now that the windshield and new seal are in place what is the trick to get the windshield trim back on the car? Does the inside part of...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

RedFish, I checked the screw for the left washer squirter, no vinyl top. It looked like a clip that had long been broken. I removed the screw and the small plastic piece that was still there. I added a small bead of RTV on the screw and screwed it back in the hole. Thanks for the tip.

    leaking windshield

I have a thread on this, I am by no means a pro. I have changed 4 to 5 pieces of glass and or seals over the past 30 years or so. I ordered the black butyl tube for my caulk gun and used it with no leaks from the glass after it was done. I would get a good seal and pull the glass and like 65Plum...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

I tried making some sort of snorkel out of old plumbing fittings last night to try and vacuum out the cowl area, smallest I had was 1 1/4" so that wasn't working. I ended up cutting the firewall out with a hole saw as someone on here posted before. As I was cutting I started seeing some smoke...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

Not great news but better. I still have a small amount of water getting in. It looks like it is coming up near the air vent box. I will pull that back out along with the insulation on the upper portion of the toe board and see if I can locate the leak.

    Husqvarna chainsaw

Might try the Arboristsite for some input on your problem, arboristsite.com. There are a lot of brand loyal members there so be ready for some grief about the Husky. I really like my Stihl saws and try to spread out the usage on all four saws. Always like to empty the tank and run them dry...

    Husqvarna chainsaw

I run a 455 and three Stihls, one of those is modded. I haven't had any issues with the Husky but like others here have said, I would definitely reach out the Husqvarna as I also believe they need to know about it. They make a real good saw and would be interested to see what they would do for...

    MIG Welder

I checked that when I went to check it out, it was cert'd 01/07 with a ten year cert. When I called the guy he told me the tank was empty but it actually still had a small charge. I am taking it to Arc3 here in Lynchburg next week to swap or fill.

    MIG Welder

I went ahead and picked up this welder, checked it before buying it, ended up getting it for 400 even, not a steal of the century but not a bad price from what I have seen considering it came with a tank and some helmets and gloves and that wicked ghetto cart.

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

Can definitely relate to the mess, I spent about 5 hours cleaning the sealant off the area where the seal sits when I pulled the glass last weekend. Was using an environmentally friendly mineral spirits on it, I since then have picked up a quart of 3M adhesive remover, haven't tried that yet. I...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

440 / AJ, I appreciate the input. I have changed the wiper pivot seals and did check on the air vent stack location, a small amount of leaves but I do see the water running out the fender/door hinge area when spraying water into the cowl slots. Previously I taped off the slots so no water could...

    Windshield Questions - 73 Dart

After a local shop failed miserably to stop the water coming in on my 73 Dart after two attempts, I tried resealing the windshield with some butyl sealant but still had water leaking.
