    Is there a simple/easy way to ID a 273 engine vs 318?

NOT MINE - 1967 Monaco convertible $5000 CDN The owner has posted in that thread and it sounds like the 273 was installed to replace a 318 by a previous owner.

    Rookie Mistake...

^This^ I've known guys that have gone through that scenario and it's not good. More money (lawyers etc.) on top of bad... and you'll never get all your parts back. One of the problems for a lot of shops is the owner is either good at bodywork or a good businessman. Rarely does both come...

What did this air cleaner come on, and WIW?

Yea, looks '72-73ish to me too. The second snorkel makes it an HP. Advertise on FCBO. The C-body guys are always looking for these.

    Commando vs Charger

Local guy ordered a new '70 Challenger. Really nice car that he still has. The car was delivered to him with a 383 pie plate on the air cleaner. To this day, 53 years later, he is convinced that the car is some special 383 small block that Chrysler had built but wasn't supposed to be sold. He...

    Funerals

True story... When my wife's step dad's mother passed, we went to the funeral in Pennsylvania. She was real close to 100 years old and still lived by herself. The church service went ok, except for the old priest losing his place a few times, but whatever... We got to the cemetery and we...

'65 Valiant No High Beam Problem

It's not the switch. If you think about it, the switch provides power to the dimmer. Nothing changes with the head light switch when you hit the dimmer. Look at the wiring diagram in your FSM and you'll see it's just one wire from the headlight switch to the dimmer. You probably have a short...

    Root canal or extraction?

Actually, my honest dentist has told me that, so maybe I should have tempered my advice a bit. In my case, he also said I'm healthy and don't smoke (that's the big one) so I have a good chance the implants I have won't ever fail. He's been doing them about 30 years now, and from what I...

    Root canal or extraction?

Root canals are temporary fixes. A good and honest dentist will tell you that they have a life of less than 10 years. Anything over that is considered a bonus. Trick is to find a good and honest dentist. Some are bad and some are dishonest. I had one that was both bad and dishonest years ago...

Old TRW Catalogue, Any body have one?

I have a 1978 TRW catalog and I can't find that number listed in it.

Unpopular opinion. I'm so frustrated I hate car shows/cruises.

I've done similar things. I was at a cruise night and parked my '65 Barracuda next to a friend's metric Challenger. I usually don't sit around too much, but he was sitting there so I pulled out a lawn chair too. He got up to get something to eat and another metric Challenger pulled in. I...

    Car Show Bingo

The last cruise night I was at had not just one, but two cars with skeletons in the passenger seat. Both were new Broncos. A WTF? moment if there ever was one.

East coast road trip need tips

I can give you a couple tips on the falls. On the American side, do the tower and the "Cave of the Winds". The American cave is a lot better than the Canadian cave. Maid of the Mist is a must, do that from either side. Do the tower on the Canadian side too. As said, the American side is more...

    SCT versus random orbital sander?

FWIW, I've looked at buying one of those tools and the Harbor Freight Bauer version has good reviews, seems to perform the same as the Eastwood SCT, has similar specs, and it's cheaper. It would not surprise me at all if it's built at the same Chinese factory.

I'm 3D Printing a set of Dash Panels with Gauges

I'll give the other side of the coin and how I'm good with starting with an entry level machine. I bought an Ender 3 Pro about 6 months ago. I'm retired and was looking for something else to have some fun with. I looked at a few and kept coming back to the Ender. So, does it have all the...

I'm 3D Printing a set of Dash Panels with Gauges

I do some 3D printing myself, buying a Ender 3 Pro six months ago. I just bought a resin printer last week (Xmas present to myself) and I'm on the learning curve for that. I'm curious what kind of plastic you are going to use and what scanner you bought.

    UT and Merh?

His first videos were kind of weird with him talking fast and throwing carburetors around. It didn't take long for that nonsense to stop. Some of his content is good... and some is kind of lame. To his credit, he's not taking free stuff and then telling everyone how great it is. I watch some...

    Sandblasting talk

FWIW, I was ready to scrap my cabinet when I saw this and tried the mods. The metering valve being the best mod, I now just have a cup or two of media in the bottom of the cabinet. There are other videos of similar mods and I suggest watching them for ideas.

The good, the bad and the WTF of Wallmart!

We have a Walmart not too far from me. It's in a nice suburb of Syracuse. Problem is that it's also on the bus line and folks out of Syracuse will come out there to shop. My wife has left shopping carts full of stuff sitting in the aisle and walked out when fights have started. She's had to do...

How many of you do woodworking / DYI stuff?

I don't do much woodworking, but I always have some interest. Regarding DIY?? I don't know.. I do a lot of stuff myself, if you mean home repair and improvement type stuff. I think there's forums out there already for that and most traffic would be from folks stuck on some single project...

    Well that was dumb...

Freshened up the engine in the Roadrunner I was racing back in the 70's. All went good... Put the engine in the car, had everything except the convertor bolted up... Slid under the car to finish that and noticed a convertor laying under the workbench.... and then noticed the empty bellhousing...
