Strut bushings on 66 dart SHREDDED

Rubber does get old. It deteriorates over time, just like my memory. If those bushings were 26 years old, I'm not surprised they broke apart under the suspension load.

    Favorite Westerns?

Anything Eastwood, especially Pale Rider and Josey Wales. High Plains Drifter, too. More recent favorites are Tombstone, and the remake of True Grit. Not that I don't love the Duke, but I thought Jeff Bridges was brilliant as Rooster Cogburn.

Nice ride and a cool find. Enjoy your new Mopar! Pretty much this. There is a lot of potential with that drivetrain combo.

Scored a new (to me) ride

Yeah, the pre-2004 models look good, but the 2nd gens are really unattractive, IMO. I think there are a few good write-ups on the heater core replacement here, this is one that I know about: http://www.dodgedurango.net/forums/durango-discussions-1998-03/1932-heater-core-replacement-finished.html

    A903 - no floor shift?

Stupid question, but I've been googling my head off and can't turn up a definitive answer. I know AMD repops the manual shifter tunnel for A-bodies - is the shifter location the same for 3-speeds (A230 in my case) and 4 speeds? Can I use the 4-speed tunnel for this swap?

    A903 - no floor shift?

No, I'm a happy guy. Plans with the Barracuda have changed a bit, but that's ok. Also, the seller was a super cool guy who had a kick *** E-body in his shop. Even though I spent 3 hours in traffic bringing the parts home, it was a good day.

    A903 - no floor shift?

UPDATE: I came across an A230 from a '72 Duster while browsing CL. It was complete from flywheel to driveshaft, including the original shifter and linkage. Price was right, so it's in my garage right now. I wasn't really looking to swap out the trans and I certainly won't need all the parts I...

    first gen. Dodge dually

1st gen diesel Rams are getting harder to find in good condition, and those that have them often want top dollar for them. I found a really nice '93 1T dually with the Cummins and 5 speed a few months back, but the seller was not budging on his 12k asking price.

what are good tires for 64 dart slant 6

http://tirecrawler.com You can shop around, but these guys have pretty good prices. I've ordered three sets of tires from them in the last year or so, and I'll give them a thumbs up since I haven't had a problem with anything they've sent me. You didn't mention what size you're looking for, or...

    Vanashing Point Challenger

The Revell 1:25 Challenger kit molds (the Streetburner RT/TA issue) were taken from a diecast kit, and the body shape is off, especially below the beltline. It's also larger than 1:25 scale. The kit has a metal axle to mount the front wheels, so you've got a hole through the engine to deal with...

    Vanashing Point Challenger

One can hope this isn't a re-pop of AMT's original '70 Challenger mold, or a re-issue of the Vanishing Point kit they released circa 2003 (based on the earlier kit with new parts). But I wouldn't hold my breath, not until they release some test shots. IMHO, the best Challenger body is still the...

    Future cat house

I can tell you from personal experience that you can store two early Beetles in the same space as one B-body wagon. But then you've got twice as many cars. Trust me, you don't want to go this route. As much as I like VWs, the burnouts just don't compare. :D

car lover in a city that hates cars.

Welcome to the madness. That's a cool ride. The Dart, I mean. :D I grew up in NY, and some of the first street racing I did was on Webster Ave in the Bronx, near Fordham University. My buddy and I drove around in his '68 Coronet, and we got laughed at a lot because it was a 4-door. It was a...
