    vibration update....yoke condition

    got the driveshaft out....here's the yoke. Why did this happen??? The yoke is 1.680", and it is 1.674 at the worst part. I still have to take the tailshaft housing off, because I got a new bushing, but I still need to find the cause.

    variable duration lifters (rhoads)

    I have a question about these.....won't the fast bleed down at idle possibly cause adverse compression effects? example: I am building an iron-headed small-block to about 9.8:1. the cam will have 228 @ .050 and .512 lift. won't the Rhoads lifters help cause low-rpm detonation?

    I ordered a bushing from O'reilly, but it is the wrong one. they apparently think a 904 yoke is the same as a 727 yoke. funny, though, because the rear seal for either tranny is actually a 727 seal.....but the bushing is too small... so...does someone have a good NAPA or other number so i...

    reduced timing and new best ET!!!!

    I brought the timing down from 25 initial and 50 total to 18 initial and 38 total. The car ran great with the prior setting, but apparently whoever set it there was stupid. and i guess i'm kinda stupid for leaving it so long.... but the timing is the only change i made and went from a 1.8189...

    what do you do when your order is wrong?

    If you order (you think) .020 pistons and .020 rings because you don't need to go .030, and they send you .020 rings and .030 pistons, which do you send back? The pistons because you wanted .020, or the rings, because it's more cost efficient to send them back?
