    Calvert split mono leafs

Thanks. I have only made 5/6 passes with the Hoosiers on. 512 low deck with a 4 speed and 3.91s ran best 60" of 1.67 and 12.12@113. Super stock springs, old Comp Eng. shocks, launching @ 4k rpm, shifting at 5600. Can't wait for this season to truly see how it does. Only ever ran Nitto drag...

    Calvert split mono leafs

My apologies. I meant the split mono leafs. So use to just referring to the whole setup as caltracs. I have edited the post.

    Calvert split mono leafs

I am looking at making the switch to CalTracs for my 72 Demon. I currently have a 3" inboard kit, super stock springs, 28-10.5 hoosier slicks. I see Calvert offers different split mono leaf ride heights. Can anyone provide pictures of your setup with info of what spring ride height you went...

    shots from the garage...

Wow! Here is SD we are sitting anywhere from $4.07-$4.39 for diesel. Prices jumped for us almost two weeks ago. Similar jumps here. One station went from $3.15 for the cheap stuff to $4.19 in one day. Good luck on race day!

    slick decision

I would have to dig and find the part number. It is a Centerforce diaphragm clutch. I told them my driveline specs. They recommended what disc to use for the Hp range. My engine Dynoed 560/620 at the flywheel. They say this disc will hold to 700. It seems to be doing good. The drag radials did...

I mean this in a nice response. NO WAY!! LOL. I have had so many people tell me to put an auto in it. I could careless if I win. This thing is so much fun on and off the track.

    slick decision

Update for everyone. I have a set of Hoosier CO7 slicks. I have not ran them yet. Actually only had time to hit the track once this year. I ran the DR for that day. They actually hooked great! They seem to like a really good burnout and 15psi. It landed me my best 60' to date, a 1.68. So that...

Tires for street and drag racing

Thank you. I had the nitto 555R before. They seemed to be more consistent but I always seemed to have other issues arise. So never knew if they were truly getting tested. Best 60' for those was a 1.73. Consistent 1.80s. I do hope these R2s will keep hooking. I plan to bump the launch rpm up a...

Tires for street and drag racing

I have 275/60/15 Nitto 555R2 currently. A couple weeks ago I hd the most success with these tires. Compared to last year. They like a really good burnout(for my car maybe). I am still working on some things but they hooked great on the 3 passes I got that day before rain showed up. My car is a...

    shots from the garage...

 Thanks! Id like to say thankfully I don't have to worry about a 904 or glide. I just need to decide what clutch, if I should slick shift the trans, and what am I going to break on that first dump. Especially this year as I am going to run slicks for the first time. Now I am basically 3...

Wow what a read! Took me a few days on and off to read it all. Quite the journey you have been on. Good luck on your 2023 season adventures. I will have to keep tabs on this thread. Not just the book of faces and ads.

THE NEWER NITTO NT555R11 any good for the drag strip only ?

72 Demon 512 low deck 4 speed 3.91s super stock springs comp shocks 3400# with me. First night with this setup I had 275/60 Nitto NT555R. Hooked consistently 1.71 60s low 12s. All of the 2022 race season I ran the Nitto NT555RII 275/60. Best 60 was 1.73. Otherwise was all over the place and...

Thanks John. I know your cars now. My Uncle Ron knows them and you fairly good I believe. As you let him run one of yours one year in Vegas and he won! My car is mini tubbed and the springs are relocated. I currently have a 10" wide wheel with 5" BS under it. I don't want to go larger than a...

    slick decision

I am looking at switching over to slicks from my drag radials next season. I am tired of the inconsistency of the DR. I have a 72 Demon with a low deck 512 backed with a 4 speed and 3.91s. Flywheel HPTQ is 563/620. What would be a good go to slick for my setup? I would like to stick to a...

    Nitto NT555RII reviews?

I just mounted a pair of Nitto NT55RII on my 72 Demon. I am curious if anyone here has a review to share about how they perform, air pressure, burnout length? I am headed to the track tomorrow afternoon. So I will have data soon. I previously ran the NT555R version. They seemed to do fairly...

Radiator tips for 67 Dart with 440

That is understandable. He is guaranteed to get hot in town driving and at a stand still. Highway he gets himself around somewhat ok. For example a 20 mile drive via highway with a couple stop signs. He sometimes has to stop and let it cool once or twice. Depending on the temps. Obviously a 90°...

Radiator tips for 67 Dart with 440

Brother here! :lol:I wouldn't call your 440 a completely mild 440. As it has been consistent 11.70-11.80s for you and the PO knocked off some low 11s? Yes, it is still pump gas but you have a pretty decent solid cam in there and id guess 10-1 CR at the minimum. Knowing the car a little bit...
