    what the hell?!

LOL...Portland. Seattle. San Francisco. LA. San Diego. I could go on but it’s no different out here. A few big cities ruin the entire state.

    what the hell?!

I was surprised at how nice Tijeras is. I could live there. It’s pretty close o the climate and topography where I live now. ABQ was down the road but not on top of it.

Yeah, I figured crop irrigation was taking a beating. I’m watering my lawn twice a day, 7 days a week and it’s still barely staying green. I can’t imagine trying to irrigate crops in this weather, especially if you have to use human power to move the pipes (BTDT).

    S60 to the rescue

That’s a bummer. I’m not a fan of spending money on an 8.75 for anything. It just doesn’t make sense. I get the bearing thing though. These companies can’t get anything right now, and evidently bearings are on that list too. Luckily for lead69 and I, both our D60’s are almost ready. I think the...

Lovely. Avista Power/ inentional blackout in Spokane (Spokamentro)

Part of the problem is these systems are never built with any margin built in. Just like our roads, which are never built with enough capacity, so to is the grid and all that feeds it. These black pits don’t occur because the grid can’t supply the power. They happen because there isn’t enough...

It’s senseless that all these houses up here don’t have AC. My mom and dad bought central AC in 1972. No later than April every year it would run. Usually up to October. I can’t tell you how many times we had family and friends come over and stay the night because they couldn’t sleep in the...

Water Pump Gasket, install with or without silicon sealer

Those paper gaskets benefit from a coating of Gasgacinch or similar. I don’t use silicon on gaskets like that.

    Pulley ??

Not that I can find. The March Performance serpentine belt pulleys are overdrive. I put a set on the 73 Junk S#*t Duster but I forget how much overdrive it has. 6% or something like that.

    what the hell?!

Yep. I’m going to call a new place I found on the web and see if I can get them out here. I know with the 320 or so days a year we have without clouds our power bill would be close to zero or zero most any month.

360: What engine brackets and motor mounts?

IMO, that’s a very good thing. I’m not a fan of the spool mount. You can get solid biscuit mounts. Much better IMO.

    what the hell?!

Check again. It was 1913. We didn’t need a big defense budget because we weren’t fighting wars that we had no business fighting. There were few paved roads because there weren’t cars, and horses didn’t care for pavement. They had fresh well water in most places, which is much better than the...

    The "Throw Away 318"

Or, maybe your head is permanently stuck up your *** thinking torque rotates the earth. You are WRONG. By far. And yet you argue it. Here’s what I say. Use the biggest bore you can, then set the stroke length to run the RPM you want. I gave up on 5500 RPM engines in high school. If you can’t...

360: What engine brackets and motor mounts?

You need 340-360 engine mounts and then the biscuits (I prefer solid mounts for that) unless someone swapped in the junky spool mount K member. If that’s the case, you still need the engine mounts except for the spool mounts and some kind of new bushings because unless you can find new mounts...

    what the hell?!

It’s a “dry” heat in Arizona. So I hear. I spent some time in Tijeras New Mexico in 2015 and it’s the same heat there as it is here. HOT.

    what the hell?!

Double check your history. This nation was far more prosperous and had a huge middle class right up to the “federal reserve” act (which is neither), followed shortly hereafter by the unconstitutional, immoral graduated income tax. Since then, the middle class has gotten smaller and the poor...

    what the hell?!

I just checked and at 1000 hours it was 100 degrees and we have a hot wind too. And I just mowed my lawn. The wife owes me BIG for doing the mow job in 100 plus degree heat.

    The "Throw Away 318"

The problem is how long is a piece of string? Same with bore size. A “small” bore is ASScar is 4.155 and the rules on bore size (last time I checked) was 4.185 maximum because the GM junk can’t go bigger and the Chrysler can. In that case, the 4.200 bore (maybe 4.220 if the block sonic tested...

    The "Throw Away 318"

Horsepower is king. To dispute this is stupid (Chris Alston). Lots of guys running more than 800 HP N/A on the street and they aren’t useless. I’ll say it again. Torque does NOT move a car. That you keep saying is positive proof you didn’t read what I posted. Harold Bettes is in the same...
