with some of the newer paint codes out now it is impossible to get a 100% paint match as some paint codes today can have a half doz or more alternates just in one paint code. i was mixing paint for years also, trying to get a paint match for a partial or even a complete nowadays is a fricking...

dtm clears have less shrinkage than reg urethanes, cleared my ironhead chop rocker boxes yr's ago with dtm with no issues also. alsa also has a DTM clear now too... http://www.alsacorp.com/products/clear4chrome/cl4ch_prodinfo.htm

for the op, we have been clearing bare metals with diffrent products (creacote,armorex,cloverdale) for years, some are better than others, we have found the DTM (direct to metal) cloverdale 4:1 polyurethane one of the better ones... Request Rejected
