    Craig McCaughey's Demon

Craig is an old friend and he’s wondering if anyone has seen his old Demon bracket car. He sold it around 1983 to build a Super Gas '83 Mirada. He raced primarily in Cordova and Byron. This was the last time that he raced it and sold it the next day to a guy from Wisconsin. He thinks his name...

    Thanks for the input guys.

    1970 Duster wheels

Do you have any rubbing issues with the 225s? Do they stick out past the fender at all? I ask because I have a set of police wheels that I can compare the backspace to my steelies.

    1970 Duster wheels

I kind of figured that the 235s would rub but I wanted to hear some first hand experience. I imagine that we will end up using 225s. I have to check the backspace on the 15x6.5s. I have a 275.60 15, 4.5" BS rallys on my Cuda so we will test fit them on his car first. Thanks

    1970 Duster wheels

We're doing a disk brake conversion on my son's car and that means going to large bolt pattern wheels. I have a set of 4 15x6.5" steelies. I want to purchase a 15x8", 4.5 back space steely for the back and run 275.60 15. For the front I would like to use 2 of the 15x6.5" and run a 235.60...

    70 Duster V8 fender badge

Ok, good. It's a console auto EK2 with white buckets. November 20 SPD and a Monroney sticker too. Not sure about the build sheet but it has a ton of paper work. Evidently someone has marred the paint a bit with an orbital polisher. It sounds like it has made the rounds a bit and maybe sold...

    70 Duster V8 fender badge

I understand that all of the 70 Dusters had the Valiant fender badge that year. I was also under the impression that the V8 badge was left off of the 340 cars and only on the 318 cars. Well, my buddy just bought an original 5000 mile 340 car that has the V8 badge on it as well. I know with Ma...

    Heater box interchange

I pulled a non-A/C heater box out of a ‘75 Dart because it was clean and easy to pull. The question is what other A bodies will it fit. I posted on Moparts and got the reply that it may only fit '73-'76 A bodies but I just want to ask the same question from you guys. ‘67-‘69? ‘70-‘75? All of...

    3" Dynomax Ultraflow Carnage

I had the exact same thing happen to one of my Ultraflows. The weld wasn't even close to being centered over the seam. Rewelded it and it has been fine.

    Super Stock springs

The stock Duster rear brake hose is 14". An '86 truck hose is 26". I would imagine that I can secure it to keep it away from anything that would damage it. Does this sound like too much?

    Super Stock springs

I got a set of Monroe Sensa trac 58577 coil overs for my Cuda. I had the parts guy reference the shock and they fit a ton of B bodies plus several more makes. That's what I plan for the Duster. Extended 22.5" Compressed 13.75" Travel 8.75" Thanks

    Super Stock springs

Per my parts buddy, here are shock specifications. Would the truck shock be a good option? 70 Duster Extended 21.25" Compress 13.00" Travel 8.25" 86 Dodge 1/2 ton truck Extended 25.00" Compress 15.5" Travel 9.50"

    Super Stock springs

I know this has been discussed before but I cannot find the info that I need. My son has a 70 Duster with SS springs. I know that people get shocks and brake hoses from 1/2 ton trucks to make up for the extra height that the springs add. Which 1/2 ton truck should I use to order shocks and...

    2 speed wiper spring washer

I'm trying to get my 2 speed wiper going. I have everything except for a spring washer. The washer goes underneath the clip that holds the wiper arm to the wiper motor in the cowl. The washer keeps the clip in place so that the wiper linkage doesn't come off of the wiper motor while it's...

    Well that sorta sucked...

We have a Champion with about 1/2" clearance and I didn't want to chance hitting it with the fan when we lifted the motor. That's why the Rad came out. It seems everyone goes about it a different way. This is the first that I've seen both T bars pulled. This worked for us so I guess the...

    Well that sorta sucked...

They're Dougs. 1 5/8 tubes. I've read a lot of different threads about the install and everyone has done a bit of each of these things. Especially the column. The header was not going into that hole with the shaft or box in there. We had the motor lifted until it was bottoming on the...

    Well that sorta sucked...

My son and I just finished installing Doug's headers into his 408, 4 speed 70 Duster. The headers are very nice and we used the TTI offset Z bar. We started off pulling the steering cross tie, 90 degree oil filter adapter, radiator and starter. Then came the steering column and box. Oh and...

    [SOLD] 1970 340 engine w X heads

Are you saying that Chrysler didn't build Cudas and Challengers in LA? Sure they did. It closed at the end of the 71 model year.

    Duster Chrome tip hangers

They're a factory set that I found at a swap meet. I pulled out a micrometer and it looks like I can cut the ends of the tailpipe and these will slide on. This is all in preparation for a set of Doug's headers over the winter.

    Duster Chrome tip hangers

I was able to go out and look at the car. Since it's a 70, I wasn't sure if it would have the holes for the J nut. It does. Good picture. Thanks

    Duster Chrome tip hangers

I guess there may be no pictures, I suppose I can figure it out. Here's another question. How far past the bumper should the chrome tips extend? Thanks

    Duster Chrome tip hangers

Can someone post up a picture of where the hangers for the chrome tips are supposed to be mounted? We are going to put some tips on my sons 70 Duster. I know they were only offered beginning in 71. Thanks

    Champion radiator

Here is what we have it in. Originally an LA 318 3 speed EV2 car. 4 speed 3.23 sure grip now. All new wiring and a front seat cover. We tore it apart and blasted the engine bay. I thought we'd do paint this winter but a new motor put an end to that. Need a left quarter lower patch, trunk...

    Champion radiator

Well it took all of 4 days to get the radiator from California to St. Louis. It was supposed to take 8. The Radiator and factory shroud bolted right in. I'm not home and my son did the work but I guess the Radiator was in pretty good shape, maybe just a few bent fins. It's a 408 that was...

    Champion radiator

Well, Hell. The 2747 is not the one that you want for this application. It's the 2947 that Hayden has recently released. I didn't bother to take a look at the one that's on the car and as it turns out, it is a short clutch and will probably work fine. I think I got it at NAPA. It's my...
