hi guys i was just wondering if anyone has (or knows where) an 8 1/4 rear end that is for sale. i would be putting it in my 69 dart. i would prefer it to be an A body rear and i would prefer it to be a sure grip, but any 8 1/4 for the right price will do. i would like it to be as close to a drop...

Okay. thats what i thought. i heard some of the bolt patterns are different on the 904s. some for a slant 6 and some for a SBM V8. From what it looks like i can find a cheap 727. are they decent as well? And if i buy a used one that ran when it was taken out should it be rebuilt before i drop...

now i have another question. Will an original 69 slant six 904 tranny hold a SBM and 300ish hp? If so is it better or worse than the 727

Sounds like a good idea. I figured thats realitivly close to my goal. i can port the heads with a freind whos done about a dozen heads before as well. and when i get some extra $$$ i can buy and bolt on some new heads it i even want more power. who knows i might be happy just the way it is.

lol i found a mopar engines pdf on google. that wasnt really my source lol and thats crazy hat its that far off. i wouldve guessed it to be slightly lower but still arund 9:1 and If you had to guess how much does it cost to get your heads milled

its all good. and i have a neihgbor who has ported many heads before and is willing to give me a hand. i think ill wait on getting new heads until pretty much everything else on the car is taken care of so ill have the extra $ to get some nice ones

i know the mopar a body rear ends are hard to find any suggestion on where to find one for a decent price like $500-$700 probably used or new but i expect that theyll cost more than that
