Week 8, still not a lot to see. Paid for more parts including a Level 1 Chassis Stiffening Kit from US Car Tool. Supposedly the body is sanded and they will start welding in the new metal this week. All there is to see this time is a rack with all the parts on. Its the one in the middle. Cant...

Ok, so I said I would update every week but I'm sure nobody wanted to hear about how nothing happened. :wtf: So its week 7. The fenders, doors, hood and trunk deck are done and epoxied. A few repairs needed to be done to the drivers door, the hood lip and front of the fenders (fender looks...

[FOR SALE] 1976 Charger SE Jacksonville, FL

This is my neighbor Kenny's 1976 Charger SE. He has been trying to sell it for a few months with no luck so I decided to help a fellow Mopar brother out an post it here. He didn't want to sell but he really needs the money to help out because of the current situation with Covid-19. He already...

Almost forgot to tell you guys about the driver motor mount. The car was born with a slanty and still had the original K member. There was about and inch and a half of washers stacked up on it. Trans-dapt kit is ordered.

    1971 Dodge Demon

Week three. Not a lot of excitement here. The media blast guy cant make it till next week so my car got sidelined though they were removing the last of the interior and getting ready to remove the wire harness today. The 318 checked out OK so its getting prepped to be painted. I thought the hood...

    1971 Dodge Demon

By the way, my neighbor is selling his 1975 (I think) Dodge Charger. He says it all works, even the A/C, and is all original though I'm not big on the "Cordoba style" Chargers. He's asking $5,500 OBO. I'll get a really good pic of it, he has info written on the windshield including phone #.

    1971 Dodge Demon

OK so we are at week 2! Car is almost apart and there wasn't any other significant damage. Front fenders are good, only drivers door needs a little work, the rest of the body is good, frame rails are good. Engine and trans will be coming out today. Shop owner said that they have somebody...

You know what, I didn't like the color at first. Then I found out the car was originally Butterscotch and it kind of grew on me. So yeah it will be the same but the side graphics will be matte black along with the hood stripes that will be added.

So it starts here with new floor pans and trunk pan. He thinks the quarter isn't bad but won't be sure till more paint is removed. I'm fine with replacement. I'm going to visit him once a week and will update pics as this project goes on.

But it wasn't right because I knew the car needed work that couldn't be seen under that now cleaned up paint job. So this week I decided I was tired of the leaks and rust popping up and took it to a reputable shop and we worked out a plan for my budget. Here are pics of what we found from week one,

    Rear end lift...Need some input

So my Demon has air shocks at 70psi but i think its just too stiff. I have put all new bushings in rear suspension, original with the leaf helpers, but I am thinking to put in coil over shocks with a 2" lift kit. What do you guys think?

Help with rear leaf spring bushings

Thanks Redfish, that's what I needed to know. Trailbeast, I heard the same and that's the reason for this search. A lot of sites don't tell you the sizes only that it fits and when I call or email they seem to have no idea what I'm talking about. I miss going to speed shops where the old...

Help with rear leaf spring bushings

I should add that sometime in the past someone had upgraded the front and rear to a 73~76. I have no idea if they changed out the springs when they changed the rear end to an 8 1/4. Last owner was no help at all as he lost interest in this car years ago and really couldn't tell me much of its...

Help with rear leaf spring bushings

So I need new spring bushings. I have the rear shackle bushings, just going with Moog, but it seems there are a few choices for the front eye. Best I can tell I have a 1.5" bushing with a 1/2" bolt. Does that sound right for my 71 Demon? Kind of hard to get good measurement while its still in...

Horn wont work, kinda unique problem SOLVED

OK, after a good nights sleep and long day at work I went at this again an 67Dart I owe you. While the schematics didn't match they did show me how the headlight buzzer should be hooked up so I pulled the whole bulkhead connector off an sure enough I found a cut and bypassed wire...It ran to the...

Horn wont work, kinda unique problem SOLVED

Sorry 67Dart, the Valiant schematics, which should be the same more or less, shows engine side L for horns (where it is on my car) but inside is T and that cannot be as T comes off the starter relay. But I think I'm getting closer, the schematic DOES show how the headlight buzzer wires in and...

Horn wont work, kinda unique problem SOLVED

I have taken the bulkhead connectors apart and cleaned them. Good conductivity thru them at L. The splices you see in the back are the speaker wires. Radio itself is connected to a relay under the hood, it turns on from ignition. I did hook the battery directly to the yellow w/blk and horn sounds.

Horn wont work, kinda unique problem SOLVED

Horns only 1 wire, grounded on body. I read good 12v coming off relay to the green w/red wire. And that's the problem. Power is going to the correct wire from the relay according to the schematics but there is no power at inside bulkhead which is the wire that runs to the headlight buzzer. And...

OK I'm hoping someone can help. 71 Demon, original s/6 now 318 with console shift and I believe this along with the steering column switched out. Old restore, whomever did this did an excellent job on the console shift short of wiring lights to it, but that's not the problem... I've been tiring...

    Need some 904 trans help

Yup its embarrassing. But in my defense I did let the car run for about 20 mins in neutral while I added the fluid in and I was under the assumption that I would only need what I took out since it had been full (another mistake) and not wanting to overfill when added in the 6th qt and it said...

    Need some 904 trans help

Well I'll be durned... I went home for lunch and started up the Demon, letting it run for a few mins. Put it in neutral and checked the fluid. Its half way down the add pint mark. Added 2 pints to get it to full zone and drove back to work. Guess what...its fine now. Thanks for all the input...

    Need some 904 trans help

I was thinking something along those lines. Since I didn't disassemble the rear tail where the governor is something may have made its way there and is causing a problem. I have only driven the car once after completing this and I may need to drive it a few more times under different conditions...
