    SB oil modification question

Anyone have detailed information regarding the SB oil modification where oil is diverted from one bank to another with a cross over tube? How to perform, when to perform, etc.? Had info a while ago from Moparts but the link is no longer valid. Thanks.

    Whats everone working on?

Never thought about it that way but after you mention it there are alot of similarities between the Sharkstooth and the wing. I should actually be working on the grille but the thought of sanding all those webs and the masking  simply overwhelms me! With building the airplane at least...

Pics of Duster with Duel Snorkle and 340Wedge

I guess I could always get another hood and do one with the 340 decal and one with the snorkle scoop. Actually I've got a hood with the holes for the ramcharger scoops and a set of scoops so I could do 3 hoods  Man indecision is a b#@!* If I go with anything other than the duel...

Pics of Duster with Duel Snorkle and 340Wedge

Anybody have pics of duster with both the Duel Snorkle hood scoop and the 340Wedge decal? I like both options and want to see if both will fit and if they do, does it make the hood look too "busy."

Guys, thanks for your insight, you've knocked me off the fence and I'm sticking with Rallye Red. Should have paint on the car by May and will definately post some pics. Tom

    Whats everone working on?

Check out the side view of the frame connectors I built and installed on my Duster. I'm very please with the results, they flow well with the original frame and look somewhat factory. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=496...

    Changing colors part 2

Wow, 90% on keeping my car E5! Did not expect such a strong response in that direction. Provided I keep the car red, what are your opinions on the following:

    Changing colors, would you?

70 340 4spd Duster originally E5 Red with black interior. I'm adding a few 71 parts to the car (Sharkstooth, stripe) so its not a resto to exact original. Really leaning towards B5 with white stripe and black out hood, possible white buckets as well. I know its my decision and I'll have to...

Resurfacing deck, affect on cylinder bores

Update: Got the block back from the machine shop, max variation between the four corners is about .001":  My calculated deck height is now 9.585". I measured the quench height on all the pistons and now know how much I have to mill off them to work with the closed chamber heads. As...

Resurfacing deck, affect on cylinder bores

Visited te machinist yesterday and he was able to confirm my findings: approx .008" taper across each bank but in totally opposite directions. Also confirmed the difference in height in each bank, between cylinder 1 and 2: .018" Fortunately the height of the "odd" bank is actually...

Resurfacing deck, affect on cylinder bores

I'm not going to mention who did the work because I really think my block machining does not really represent the work they normally do. I will say that they are a major Moper shop with alot of satisfied racers out there. I will be traveling in the area of the shop next month and will stop by...

Resurfacing deck, affect on cylinder bores

It's flat, just tapered from end to end. Don't know what kind of precision to expect out of automotive machine shops (in our shop we work to tolerances of .00008") so I don't know if I can take it to someone to square up or if I have to figure a way to mount the block in our mill so I can do it...

    Sub frame connectors?

The rotisserie is a god send. I had my car media blasted and without being able to rotate it I do not know how I would have gotten all the plastic out of the thing. Working under it is a breeze, nothing like sitting down working on the underside of the car:

    Sub frame connectors?

Here's a pic of a set of connectors I made myself. The connectors overlapped the rear frames and T'd into the torsion bar frame, I formed the rear portion of the connectors to match the floor so they did not protrude through. I relocated the emergency brake cable to just above the connector as...

Resurfacing deck, affect on cylinder bores

I noticed the odd bank on my 340 block has a .012" taper from front to back (checked by moving (1) piston/rod assembly to each hole and measuring the piston height.) The block has been bored and honed with torque plates, if I resurface the deck to square up with there be any significant affect...

    360 stroker...piston questions.....

Follow this link to the KB site: http://www.kb-silvolite.com/performance.php?action=details&P_id=23 The 356's have a head volume of 23.5 with a quench height of 1.465. My deck height is 9.588 and theoritically, with a standard 6.123 rods and 4" stroke I'm at zero deck. The Eddys' cc'd...

    360 stroker...piston questions.....

Has anyone calculated the actual static comp ratio with the KB356's mill for a closed chamber head, 4.0" stroke, +.03 with .039" gasket? I've got a general idea from KB's website but would like to see actual numbers.
