Your third picture, the centerline of the u-joint portion of the slip yoke does not appear to be inline with the shank of the slip yoke, to me, that slip yoke is twigged.
It is not a "relocation of the wrist pin". It is a change in the distance from the wrist pin centerline to the crown of the piston that changed. Also known as 'compression distance'.
Whats the milage on this truck? Did it have a "K n N" type air filter on it? The 5.9 and the 6.7 head and or block frequent my shop for some form of failure every week.
No. that 'visible horse shoe' area of the the cylinder head is just a 'void'. nothing goes there except lost carb e-clips, small nuts, bolts and washers. It's just a 'heat separator' from the rest of the head.
