    Compatible 904 trans donors

Thanks. I thought I'd keep an eye out, but feel that it would be hard to find one someone is willing to ship (and if shipping is cost prohibitive). If nothing else, Cope Racing does sell a basic 904 for ~$700 which is half price of aftermarket trannies I'm seeing.

    Compatible 904 trans donors

Have a '72 Demon /six that I'll eventually upgrade to one of the v8 magnums. I'm trying to figure out my options for transmission donors as I really, really prefer not to have to buy an off shelf TCI or Cope custom for a mild street engine. Near as I can tell, the v8 904s up to like 1978 are...

    Diy - Magnum Swap!!

This is exactly what I want for my 72 demon, thanks so much for the write up! So, the only real "performance" mods it seems were the intake and carburetor, MSD ignition, and the HEI profile you selected? Can you say how much a difference a mostly stock 360 did for overall power vs the /6...

72 duster /6 to sbm swap help

I have a 72 demon /6 car now that I'm working on and olan the 360mag swap myself. While not overly knowledgable yet, I've been doing this same research. First rec: check out magnumswap.com. they give a very good broad overview of what to do. In a nutshell, you'll need to upgrade your...

    Mopar Salvage Yard DFW area

I thought about that...seems like most of the for sales refuse to ship which is another wrinkle. But will definitely keep that in mind. And thanks for the offer Captain24! Not having any car geeks in my circle I'm going this completely alone. Engine swap a ways off as I need to fix a bunch...

    Mopar Salvage Yard DFW area

I'm in South Fort Worth and you're sooo right. It looks like if&when I plan to yank the /6 for a 360 Magnum swap, I'll be able to get complete engines for $400-600 easy. But front valance from a '70-72 dodge/plymouth? Impossible. I guess I'm going to drive that stretch along Jefferson in GP...

    Mopar Salvage Yard DFW area

Took the plunge and am now proud owner of a '72 Dodge Demon for first project and I need a driver mirror and front valance. But junk yards really stink about not answering phone, email, or having a website so I'm not sure who is stocking what. Can any of you in the Dallas-Fort Worth area tell me...

Thank you for the copiously detailed advice and suggestions. When I get the car in the driveway I'm diving into all of it.

    Stupid pre-buy questions

Thanks for the tips MVH! Quick question on the JBWeld for pits - what qualifies as a pit? Are we talking any holes or scratches that are BB sized? Smaller like #12 shot sized? Or just "any scrape, pit, gouge, or other deformation that's visible to the eye should receive treatment?" Thanks for tip.

    Stupid pre-buy questions

Thanks Dartnut! I'm about 99% certain I'm getting the car so torque wrench & shop manuals will be the first supply run! Quick question, what's the best way to clean the manifold/head faces of gasket material? I've heard ppl "scraping" off but don't want to gouge. And read of ppl wire...

    Stupid pre-buy questions

I'm looking at a '72 dart slant6 that I'm thinking of buying to get hands dirty. Per the seller and observation, there's three immediate problems that would need fixing: 1. Intake/Exhaust gasket leak 2. kickdown linkage bushing replacement 3. Carb Rebuild When I swap out the gasket, do I have...

    pillar roof seam rust repair

Hi guys, looking for an opinion before buying. Have a lead on Dart and of course it had a vinyl roof (now removed) with the seam rust issues where roof skin meets A & C pillars. I'm willing to learn mechanicals but body work "scares" me somewhat, so wanted to know how bad these are. Some...
