    A-body 8-3/4 drums

Had a few say otherwise so I’ll leave it there since we don’t have a time machine. I went out back to check the 69 notch, I looked in my old van of parts and lo and behold there was two non bell drums. I have seen them before but thought they were Falcon drums but then saw the small bolt...

    A-body 8-3/4 drums

It seems the answers is all over the place (55 years a lot can happen) I’ve talked to guys who’s been around these cars all their life, one said Cuda had the bells and darts didn’t, generally, it depends on where each one was built, one said of all the 7-1/4 rears he had not one had the big drum...

    A-body 8-3/4 drums

I’m not above admitting I’m wrong. Too dark to look under both 69s I have, maybe tomorrow, both are 9” 7-1/4s. If only 3 years I imagine they’re hard to find.

I used pics but I don’t see them now but yes that’s what I’m asking.

    A-body 8-3/4 drums

My 68 had them and 7-1/4 are different size than the 8-3/4 (I tried to use them on the 8-3/4 iirr). I have a 69 notch I’ll go check it.

    A-body 8-3/4 drums

My friend sold his 69 Cuda this past weekend and the buyer was saying the drums I had were not right. Got me second guessing myself so I’m inquiring on here. My understanding was ALL 8-3/4 drums were made with the wing-flange, fronts didn’t have that piece. Even the 7-1/4 had them only smaller...

Thanks, what a plumber guy said, to fix use a well-trol tank (the one with the ballon in it). The one I have was hooked up to a house and had 60 psi pressure, till house was built then on community water (10 houses on the Potomac Creek). Only use will be for washing in slop sink and maybe a...

I Im thinking of using those tanks for my water supply using rain water off my 2400 SF metal roof. I have a 120 volt submersible pump to drop in one to feed my shop. I want a 1000 gallon fiberglass holding tank square or round but can’t seem to find one used.

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

It’s done that way to chill the incoming air through the intake into the heads for a denser air-fuel charge. WHY does an engine run better on a cool night?

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

There was no re tuning, power was down just like he said with ‘cold’ heads. I’m sure Jenny knows a lot more about engines than we do.

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

I have another example. Kenny at Indy built my 499, 830 hp. When I first got it in car it would peak at 240 degrees going down track. Belt driven water pump into a VW Scroroco radiator with external fan. I called Ken on this and said that’s fine, those heads have to run hot to make the...

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

No, so if water FLOWS to fast it won’t warm up?!

And what is the major function of a T stat but to regulate the flow through the engine.

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

So, not a person understood what was going on in that engine-radiator, talk about closed minded! By definition a radiator RADIATES HEAT, water went through it so fast it couldn’t release the HEAT (for the size of radiator) BTW I hope y’all know what those little fins hooked to the pipes are for...

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

Ok I’ll give my real life experience, the engine got so hot it melted the bond between the insulator and metal base of each spark plug (could wiggle them all) causing 2, (iirc) plugs to fall out of the head still with wire attached. I stopped (going down interstate 81) because I heard the...

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

BS, you have bad science, my brother has an engineering degree in thermodynamics. Do you know there is no such thing as cold? There’s only heat, it has to dissipate through a medium, it doesn’t just disappear. If you have an insulated container with one 5” rod sticking out it won’t cool too fast...

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

It’s a bleeder valve, to keep temp at the desired engine efficiency level, remember an engine is a heat pump.

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

Oh yes it does, they can crow all the want with their synopsis but I had first hand knowledge their idea holds no ‘water’ pun intended. REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE from 1968 in a 62 Chevy 283 wagon. It takes time to transfer heat, it’s not instantaneous. Does your coffee cool down fast in a thermos...

So it can slow down to let the heat radiate into the fins.

    Don’t Convert to R134a

AC will drive you nuts sometime, I’ve been chasing my tail on my Toyota, cools great when ambient temp is under 84, get to 94 and it runs then shuts off, turn off-on and it picks right back up for about 5-10 minutes then off again, never comes back on by itself. Tired of changing parts and...
