    Headers vs. Manifolds

This might be a case of using the wrong part name, but I thought this was worth mentioning to make sure you get the right parts. Your info above says you plan to get B-body headers. The tips in all the responses talk about the viability of B-body manifolds.

[WANTED] Passenger side beanch seat, seat back release cable

If you are looking for the original part that's one solution. If you want to make your own, I've replaced the inner wire with stainless steel wire before which worked quite well. SS is pretty stiff stuff, sort of like music wire. It will bend, but it will also hold its shape. You can find the...

    Forum names explained.

When I retired I decided my long-delayed desire for a fun 60's car was going to get filled. I had a 67 Dart and a 73 Duster way back in the day, and while I like other cars too, I have a stronger affinity for Mopars. After much searching and evaluating, I decided I wanted a 66 Valiant, and...

    Slant 6 timing cover

I believe so. I haven't seen any differences in them between all the year class engines I've seen.

Best way to lift a slant 6 engine block ?

X2 on this ^^^. I got one a while ago and have used it twice now. It's well worth the asking price.

    Dickey Betts - RIP...

We have lost one of my all-time favorite performers, Dickey Betts. Whether solo or his decades with the Allman Brothers, I could listen to him endlessly. RIP sir, you made a difference in this world.

    Warning about counterfeit parts

Guess what, Speedmaster? I'm the smallest of customers you had, (emphasis on HAD). But there's no way I'd buy another Speedmaster product.

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

Kudos to Broader for bringing this to light. I've purchased a few things from Speedmaster before, but never again. There is no way they can "explain" how this accidentally happened. Good on Summit to dump the entire line.

[WANTED] '62 Dodge Lancer Disc Brake Conversion

That's an 8-1/4 rear end, a good thing with the large bolt pattern and yes, those are drums. I believe those should be 10" drums but that should be confirmed by measuring. It looks like the front end is all original, which would mean small bolt pattern and 9" drums. That is way cool, I'm jealous!

[WANTED] '62 Dodge Lancer Disc Brake Conversion

Hey Ian, I'm not sure if I mentioned it when we talked, but I have a full set of Kelsey Hayes front discs (SBP), as well as a full set of 73+ discs (BBP). I was going to suggest you go the BBP route with the 73+ so your front wheels match the rears and you don't need to carry two spares.

    Dog Attack

I don't know what Mexican law is, but up here they frown on someone carrying a weapon. It's a bit goofy, a concealed firearm is mostly OK, but a knife or club is viewed differently. A baseball bat might be considered a weapon, a walking stick is not. I bought a piece of some kind of exotic...

Looking for used SB cam bearings

Howdy folks. I want to make a bench cradle to be able to measure and clean up a couple of cams. I'm looking for someone who might have some SB cam bearings that came out of a rebuild. Used is fine if they aren't destroyed. Please shoot me a PM with pricing if you have a set.

    Freddys not dead

We have no Freddy's up my way, but I'll look for one when I travel. In my world we have Killer Burger, a small local chain. Their Mendoza burger is outstanding. A regional brewpub called McMenamin's has a Captain Neon which is also excellent. We're getting an In-n-Out about 20 miles away soon...

    Dash Speakers

I did these 4" Kenwoods in my 66 Valiant, just made a mounting board from a chunk of plywood and secured it to the dash with plumber's tape. It's cheesy but it works and sounds good. I just this last weekend put this pair of Infinity 3.5" in a metal template I bought from (someplace I...

    Road Trip !!

It's from Custom Auto Sound, here's a link. It was about $375 and worth every penny. I forgot to mention when turned off, the dial looks like a standard AM radio - a good theft deterrent in my book. Custom Audio I had to order one for a 72 RoadRunner as they didn't specifically list a 72...

Starting a TQ rebuild - tips and tricks?

I am not carb competent. In fact, carbs = kryptonite in my world. So far in life I rebuilt the Holley 1920 on my Valiant and that's it. That adventure was successful but I know I'm heading into far more complicated and uncharted territory. My 72 Coronet wagon is a dead stock 318 2- barrel. I'm...
