    Chrysler History

Trenton Engine hot/cold test area. I can see that they're on a overhead chain conveyor. I can't really tell if the big Blocks are passcar, RV, or truck. But, they look like passcar to me. Truck oil pan sump was in back, RV in front, so? I seem tired recall truck exhaust manifolds exited center...

    cleaning a toilet help needed!

I gotta second what Mr. Ddaddy said. But, I would try the CokalaCola first. Then CLR and/or vinegar. I use Iron Out too. You can get stronger vinegar too, like 45% strength. I have well water like that that. Mine is loaded with ferris iron, ferric iron, mixed with very hard water. Any harder it...

    Tranny Id needed.

3764 = Wednesday, November 17, 1971. - According to maxwedge.com 10,000 day calculator. Transmission assembled on that day and it's likely that the vehicle was assembled later.

    Mystery engine

Just for an example: I looked at an engine the other day and on front of block was 9W 360 ?T 6419 0???. Could barely read it, and not all of it, but 6419 put the assembly date of engine near to the vehicle assembly date (prior to it as well). I interpreted that number to mean 1979, Windsor...

    Mystery engine

I'll guess October 28, 1969, casting date? What numerals + letters are stamped into driver's front of block, just below head to indicate assembly date and plant, etc.? Numbers on machined pad above oil pan rail, passenger side? You beat me to it A56!

How were the A bodies put together down the assembly line?

Thanks for posting some interesting pictures. First pics look like 72 Duster at Body Drop meeting conveyed drive train. The one that I saw had a crane operator in a cab moving the the body into position with workers on floor waiting. One per minute. The last Pic looks like final line before the...

How were the A bodies put together down the assembly line?

Hard for me to speak of specific processes at Lynch Rd. (See article) or Dodge Main since I spent so little time there. My career total for time in production, I believe Dept. 9190 @ about $3.25/hr., was 2 weeks. I operated a "hanging gun", a spot welding gun hitting respot welds. This was the...

That is a very comprehensive and accurate article by Mr. David Patik. I'm going to reread it.

    Chrysler Aluminum Manifold 4100337

4100337 Part number? Could that number possibly be casting #, and part number is maybe 4100336? Regardless, looks like 1979-80 number [( worked in Material Control then at Chrysler)or was laid off]. I'll guess 1980 Lil Red Truck prototype part, some trucks were produced, not more than 5 maybe...
