    Demon Hood Stripe ?

Great pics! I'm going to get my hood and cowl painted this year as well these pics will help. I also agree that there at least two variations the hood stripes based on the original paint cars that I have seen over the years. I'm also not sure if LA Vs. Detroit were identical either.

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

That is correct the steering boxes are completely interchangeable on bolting to the K frame, but the 73 and up has the large sector, and thus the flipped center link attachment (see post 29 in this thread)

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

Pat, the Holley "system" is all designed to work together. By "system" I mean the Holley mounts, (than move the engine forward) , oil pan and headers all based on the 1973 and up spool mount motor mounts, large sector steering box and associated tie rod/center link parts. So....If you have a...

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

Got a notification on an update to this post today and realized I haven't updated here with my solution. I solved my center link/Idler arm clearance issue with some heating and beating of my Milodon oil pan

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

Car has been in the paint process for quite a while now but here is what I hope is the last test-fit from a few weeks ago. I ended up buying the Holley Mid-mount front accessory drive so I still need to install all that stuff and bolt the engine back in for the last time

    Here we go again...Demon style.

Looks like I'm not much better at updates than the OP! here are a few of the recent pics...I've been working on the steering column, plumbing the brake, trans cooler/A/C condenser lines....the engine was "test-fit" hopefully for the last time and my new Milodon oil pan was heat and beat into...

    Here we go again...Demon style.

Well, as some of you know, this is my 3G Hemi project and Demon is now home. I'll throw out a few updates as it's slowly going back together. I cleaned up the firewall and roof then added the sound deadener/insulation. Then got the steering column support bolted back in and fit up the new...

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

SlantedDart, The 72 and older Idler is K7042, the Pitman is K7074. the 73 and up parts are: Idler - K7086 and Pitman - K7076 Those are all Moog part numbers. You mentioned the sector shaft diameter too, I forgot to mention that in my earlier post. the 72 and older have the "small" sector shaft...

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

I'm not sure about mixing the components since the steering box mounts in the same place on the K frame and the tie rod ends should be similar. HOWEVER, the center link and Pitman/Idler are different. The 72 and older connect with the center link from the bottom (like we have in our pictures...

    Hemi swap oil pan questions

I have a 6.4 in my 71 Demon using Schumacher mounts on the factory Slant Six K frame. I'm using the Milodon 31000 pan and my center link also has a hard stop on the passenger side of the oil pan when turning right. I'm actually getting ready to order the Holley one and just plan on chopping a...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

I don't see why not. The drivers side motor mount on the K frame is the same for either a slant six or V8 (67 - 72 pad mount). The passenger side motor mount is positioned about 1 inch farther outboard on the slant six K frame. I had hoped to use that extra room for an oil filter in the stock...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

I bought mine from Schumacher a couple of years ago when they still had them in stock. It looks like they no longer support much but I had heard that US CarTool had picked up the line of mounts and would be making them. However, both Mancini Racing and Classic Industries show them as "coming...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

I used a Northern Radiator # 205199 and their fan/shroud assembly #Z40112. I'm happy with the fit and appearance, it seems like a well built unit. I bought it from Yogi's and the whole assembly was was around $625. Northern Radiator | Muscle Car Radiators (Downflow) - 21 3/4 x 21 3/4 x 3 1/8...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

GoldSwinger, If that Holley mid mount front accessory drive with the Alternator, P/S pump and A/C compressor setup would have been available a year earlier I would have bought it and saved myself a bunch of pain!

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

I cant say much about fitting the 3G into the Early A bodies, but I had a 340 in my 63 Valiant and I know that it was narrower than the later A bodies. Here is a pic of the engine in my Demon on one of my mock ups. It's tighter than I thought it would be on the passenger side for sure. The...

    Swap mounts

Supposedly US Cartool has taken over the production/sales of the old Schumacher mounts. Their website doesn't show them but it's probably worth a call if that is the direction you were wanting to go.

    Explain your username here --->

Moparts was the first Internet forum/group I joined almost 20 years ago and since my primary project/timekiller at that time was my 70 Superbird. I just have used that for every group I'm in just to keep myself straight...multiple screenames and user ID's are too much for me to keep track of!

Will a GEN III Hemi fit into a 71 Demon engine bay? Will stock suspension work?

My 71 Demon: Yes and Yes. Crate 6.4, original slant six K frame, Schumacher conversion mounts, Borgeson power steering box, TTI Headers. I redrilled the mounts to move the engine 3/8" forward so the SRV would clear the firewall and had to notch the RF framerail for the alternator. I'm also...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

Ok, now for the other side and the actual difference of the slant six K frame. There is some decent room under the area of the block where the oil filter goes with this combo of mounts and K-frame. I don't think that there is enough room to mount the regular sized filter directly to the block...

    Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

Hi everyone, thought I'd post an update...(it's only been a year or so...) I finally pieced all of my components together on the slant six K frame and thought I'd share. For a refresher this is a Mopar crate 6.4 (2017 SRT LX body car configuration) and a slant six K frame from my 71 demon. In my...

Holley: Everything You Wanted To Know About Gen III Hemi Engines

I had heard that one of the upper management team at Holley is a Mopar guy and it looks like they are really stepping up their support for the 3G Hemi stuff! I know I just ordered their new Power Steering pump kit for my 6.4 and Borgeson combo. I'm also waiting for their cast Aluminum mid-sump...

    power steering

Yup, that's the place but it looks like around $650 for the pump assembly (modified GM type 2 pump) with a pulley and -6 AN fitting and you will still need a remote reservoir. Here is the Bouchillon pump, it's around $500 for the pump with reservoir, -6 AN adapter fitting and bolts. Gen III...

Subscribed! I have been looking into this myself since I have a Borgeson Box that I'm using with my 6.4 Demon swap. Slant 6 K-Frame = LOTS of Clearance

I'm in Central Illinois, near Peoria. The only slant six K frame I had was the one that came out of my 71 Demon....I also have a couple of V8 K frames that I bought for this swap, both pad and spool mount that are now just taking space up in my basement!
