    So... my odds... just aren't good without an overhaul of at least the head.... more than likely the entire engine if I find rust has spread through the internal workings of the head? Because it's probably gone everywhere like a cancer ?

    I'll check for more rust. I work 12 hour nights but only 3 days one week and 4 the other so I'll be back out there Wednesday to check out the motor again. I sprayed everything down with penetrating catalyst and spray lubricants and oil hoping to free some stuff up a bit by letting it soak...

    Ah I didn't think of that. Figured they hit a rock... maybe someone did use the tank to Jack the car up lol. The valve cover was on tight when I took it off .... but thinking back I don't remember seeing a crumbling 2 decade old gasket anywhere on there. Maybe it's been off before and left...

    Every project I tend to get in over my head. But then I learn new things and am better for the next project. I wish I had more knowledge faster so Id have more skills faster and could get my projects done faster, better and cooler.

    The down side for me is that no one my age is building these things anymore... they like imports or modern muscle and I'm usually on my own. My dad still comes out to school me every now and then cuz he always knows tricks to do stuff simple and easy after he let's me struggle for 3 hours lol...

    I'd like to keep the slant 6. I'm got some diesel tech buddies who want to help me turbo it when I get a reman motor with forged pistons etc. I just hoped I could make the original motor run and drive even if it was s little smoky and slow so it wouldn't just be sitting til I build another...

    That's what I'm worried about is a piston slapped it. Or some other unknown damage... if I could get it going with a head rebuild I'd be happy.

    Alright guys, talked it over with my dad. As said in my first post.... normally GM cars and trucks are our projects .... so the way I see it I have two real options to fix this... I can pull the motor and rebuild myself which hopefully is cheaper but I will have a heck of alot to learn about...

    Can't upload photo .... not rockers are loose. #1 works #2 exhaust stuck #3 both stuck. #4 intake stuck. #5 works #6 both stuck. By stuck I mean rockers loose.... not touching pushed. It's freakish hot here so plz excuse misuse of words lol

    Im going to pull the valve cover now and check those. No idea if it ran when parked. I assume the dented gas tank and hole in it is what parked it in 1994.

    I've confirmed the distributer is in correctly. When at tdc on compression stroke I'm facing the number 1 spot on the rotor

    Did compression test number 1 cylinder now. Got 35 psi there... I'm gonna check the rest. Have 6 volts to coil... I think I'm good now electric wise. I was trying to Check for tdc to make sure distributer is in right but I can't hear anything manually turning over motor and finger isn't...

    Compression on number 2 cylinder is less than 20... :/.....
