    The caboose

The upper control arm mounting points are moved in order to affect both camber angles and caster angles. The shock mount is irrelevant to that on these cars. If the vehicle utilizes a strut type suspension, then moving the mount rearward would provide a caster gain.

    The caboose

There wouldn’t be a caster gain from the shock mount. The location of the upper ball joint has to change for caster to be altered.

    RIGHT OR LEFT BEARING GROWL........OPINIONS

I’m surprised I’ve never been pulled over for the test drive that coincides with diagnosing these.

    RIGHT OR LEFT BEARING GROWL........OPINIONS

Typically, if a hub assembly like that makes noise on a turn to the right, it’s the left bearing and vice versa. The reasoning is that you’re “loading” the bearings with the weight of the car being transferred to the outside of the turn. I have seen a few that did not adhere to this but they’re...

    What SWAY BAR to choose

I have the big Hellwig on my ‘73 Swinger. Installed their matching rear at the same time. Made a substantial difference and installed easily.

    Leaf Spring Shackles

Which front hangers are you using? The Hotchkis hangers that come with it will lower an inch under the stock ones. If you use the stock leaf hangers on the front with the 24385 it will sit higher.

Fake Money Used to Purchase Classic Car

I’m not posting this to incite an argument or to have a debate based on stupidity on anyone’s part. This is a newspaper article from a town 20 minutes down the road. I am only posting this to warn all of us out there buying and selling anything to be cautious. I’m not saying this could happen to...

How do you think he achieved this rear drop?

My Hotchkis leaf springs came with a new front hanger that lowers the rear another inch. Did you use that? I know mine is a Swinger, but this is the result of my install.

For Those Who've Swapped RV2 For Sanden Compressors...

I have a lot of good luck with NAPA for a/c fittings.I’ve also found some oddballs from Vintage Air. You may have already exhausted those two.

For Those Who've Swapped RV2 For Sanden Compressors...

Hey RRR. I swapped my 73 Swinger from the RV2 and it has made a huge difference. I robbed all the stuff off a ‘78 Diplomat and it bolted right up. I notice a difference in the power it takes to turn it for sure. Also, much quieter than before. The biggest difference though, is how much more...

    Cabin Sound Deadening

Another vote for Kilmat. $60 from Slamazon and covered the entire floor pan of my ‘73 Swinger. Noticeable difference in road noise. Good for temp control too.

Did the remote have to be pointed directly at the unit? Or could it work while it was hidden away?

    Brake Flaring Tools

I’ve used it quite a bit in the last couple weeks. I created at 20 + flares over the course of a few days. Even just practiced ten times or so on scrap pieces just to familiarize myself with it. I had no trouble setting it up and don’t find it near as finicky as an old school flare set from the...

    Brake Flaring Tools

I just bought a Masterkool hydraulic flaring tool for work. It is not cheap but OMG is it incredible. Perfect double flares in less than two minutes. The ends I’ve made look better than they come with from the parts store.

Water leak in 68 Dart Coupe

I thought my windshield was leaking on my ‘73 Swinger but it turned out to be the wiper pivots. I get a puddle in my drivers floor pan. Watching to see the response on ease of install as I have it down for one of my winter projects this year.

[WANTED] 1973 Dodge Dart Sport A/C Hose

You can take the crimps off and go to Napa and have the rubber replaced. Just be sure to get fittings lined back up correctly. I did this with my ‘73 Swinger.

    A/C

Took longer to get out and grab pics than I planned but here’s a couple to show the updated compressor.

    A/C

I have a ‘73 Swinger with factory A/C. I got tired of the poor ole 318 turning the massive RV2 and we robbed all the brackets, lines, and compressor from a ‘78 Diplomat. It all fits great by merging my lines with the Diplomat lines. Now my air works much better at idle and has much less...

Time to play " WHATS THIS PART " again !

It appears to be the same number but DJ following it. As for ride and performance I love them. Cars sits considerably lower and rides/corners well. Definitely worth the money IMO. I don’t have a lot of experience with anything else though as they immediately replaced the 45 year old, worn out...

    Torsion bars

1973 Swinger, 318 a/c car. I did the PST 1.03” bars couple years back and highly recommend them. I still have comfortable ride but partnered with all the other updgrades/improvements, it handles in no way like it was ever intended to now. I daily it when weather allows and have done several...

    MECHANICS HELP Need new scanner

I teach auto mechanics in a high school center. I have been using snap-on scanners for a majority of my career but a few years back we picked up an Autel unit and I rarely touch anything else now. Updates are simple, the data PIDS are better and more plentiful, and there are more functions. All...
