    67-69 Barracuda differences

Never say never with a Mopar in the sixties, but I had a very early 68 barracuda that had the thumb wheel radio, so I think the change happened for the 68 model year. There are some heater control differences from 67 to 68, so I think it might be unlikely.

Rallye Dash Gauges with aftermarket Wiring Harness

Del, I assumed the “reducer” he was talking about is an IVR replacement? I wonder what he has if that is not what it is? I also assumed, probably incorrectly, that he already had the factory IVR disabled.

Rallye Dash Gauges with aftermarket Wiring Harness

If you are talking about the voltage regulator for the gauges, 6 volts is a good voltage. I would wire up the dash on the bench to make sure you have everything right before you install it. You can buy some resistor on Amazon to check the gauges. Tie one side of the resistor to ground a the...

    P/S belt squeal

My theory is that the belt drives were designed with non cogged belts. Cogged belts have ~1/2 the surface area to grip. Don’t know whether that is true or not, but seemed to help me. I bought a fractional horsepower belt from Grainger and squeal went away completely. However, they are not...

    P/S belt squeal

I have had the ps belt squeal that has driven me nuts. I have done two thing that have helped: 1. Aligned pulleys. Mine were off quite a bit. 2. Bought a belt without cogs. Dayco top cog I think. Those two things have helped a lot. I think it is the water pump pulley that squeals.

Thinking about a dash light upgrade. Your thoughts?

I bought some LEDs off Amazon that were nightly rated and they work great. I think mine were bright white, but the blue filters in the dash made them the original blue, just brighter. You might want to pull the dash out some to install them, as it is a crapshoot on polarity, particularly when...

Decent Deal? Anything stick out that should cause me to not make the trek?

The “car is in storage, so I can’t take more pictures “ is the opening line of many scams.

Who Knows A Lot About Home Security Cameras for The Driveway? Recommendations.

On a slightly different path, my son had trouble with vagrants when he lived in Texas. He bought one of those “we don’t call 911” signs & hung it on the house. Problem solved.

Who Knows A Lot About Home Security Cameras for The Driveway? Recommendations.

It’s very confusing. If you have a Ring doorbell already, they sell cameras also. I like the wireless style that plug into ac power. You don’t need to worry about batteries.

    Rallye Instrument Panel

The ground on the headlight switch is not needed. The only use it would have would be for the dome light.

    gauge frustration

Chinese senders are crap. I have had multiple bad ones. Check with an ohm meter before you install it and after you install it. Should read about 70-80 ohms cold.

This thread has largely been focused on “tactical” things rather than “strategic “ things. If we were to back up a little bit and take a wider look, I would ask what your goals are? Short term income? Long term income? Capital appreciation? Exit strategy? If you are going to get what you...

    landlord 101

On the plus side, my rental house doubled in value over the past five years. The ~125K house is now 250k. I had a stable tenant through Covid, so it made me a bucket load of money. The lower end of the housing market has got jerked up hard since there has been a housing shortage. Diversification...

I have had rental houses for close to 40 years. The environment has changed a lot. Everybody has bad credit now. It is a hard business, but you can make a lot of money. As said above, picking renters is the key. Go visit where they live before you rent to them.

Good stereo setup for an A body?

You can buy kick panels with speakers, or just the panels and buy your own speakers. I think they work better than dash speakers and are much easier to install. I prefer the 4x6 over the round ones

Good stereo setup for an A body?

I have used a couple of the Bluetooth amplifiers in post 15. They work great. Hide it somewhere, hook it up to ignition power and speakers. Turn volume all the way up and control everything from your phone.

    Weird aftermarket stereo problem

i think that is the way of cheap Chinese stereos. Some don’t last long. Just luck if you get a good or bad one. I have had a similar experience with computer monitors. The cheap ones last a year or two. The name brands last forever.

Photos of V8 power steering hose setup?

I think you are over thinking this one. Go to O’Reilly & buy one for a Saginaw pump for your year car or earlier. If it doesn’t fit, return it. Just my opinion….

Photos of V8 power steering hose setup?

As I recall, your year with the spool motor mounts has a lot of room. Many different ones should work. Just get one and try it.

[Found!] 67 Barracuda Rear Seat Internal Parts

Just drill a hole in the metal plate and use an extension spring from the hardware store. It works great and is on the inside where nobody can see it anyway. Your rod is probably bent because your mechanism is binding up. Solve that problem and then straighten out the rod and you will be fine...

    360LA Clutch Fan

I don’t remember the specifics, as it had been awhile. I think I bought bolts and cut them off so they stuck out of the water pump about a 1/4 inch on the back and the fan clutch about 1/8 of an inch past the nut. Locktite them into the water pump with red locktite.

    Strange Headlight problem

I think the crackedback headlight harness is a great idea, but you may want to find your problem first before changing a bunch of stuff. That usually just makes trouble shooting harder.
