    .........Who's from Saskatchewan.....

Figured I would chime in! Live in regina and bought a 1970 dart out of Saskatoon area last spring, haven’t had much time to enjoy it as we were in the midst of building a new house but now that’s all taken care of other than landscaping I’m hoping to pound the pavement some more this year!

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

The wheel well on my 70 isn’t round so the back flares back white a bit more, comparing the rear to the front the tires are centered in the wheelwell the same, and with my new front mounting spring point to be within an 1/8” of another members parts car measurements he gave me I do believe the...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Front section I had measured at 19 5/8 so call that 20 and I just checked the rear section is 35” leading me to believe these are the springs off the parts car 1972 dart he got the driveline out of

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

1 3/4” exposed and almost 3” from the tail shaft. I looked through the documentation I got with the car and the driveshaft was shortened in 2016 to “measurements given by owner” the owner in question was the gentleman who I bought the car from who did the driveline conversion from /6 to 360/727...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

I do have a bad vibration in the driveline I was told is a bad transmission mount, the more I look into how this suspension was all setup I’m going to have to check pinion angles and now you’ve even got me thinking a wobble could possibly come from the yoke being poorly engaged and possibly...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

I measured its showing 1 3/4” of yoke, not to familiar with these to know if that is adequate or not

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Thanks for all the measurements! The front spring bolt mount (under the back seat) is 2” to Center off the frame, so that’s pretty darn close to factory! Looks like I just need to clean up the shackle mounts and it’ll be rolling how it should have been in the first place

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Thanks all for the references, photos and measurements! This is all exactly what I’m after, now just to weigh the pros and cons of what to order to fix this mess, and yea they just welded what appears to be 1 3/4” angle iron onto the rear subframe half covering the locating hole generally used...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Yep I think the rear mount US Cartool kit is going to be on order soon to fix this mess! The front looks done way better than the rear on both sides, almost like they spent all the time up front and rushed the back pretty bad Would be nice to confirm the front location bolt with a couple...

Last owners name is not Mickey! But does happen to be one of my old nicknames Thanks for all the info everyone, I’m going to try to find a local car and take some more measurements or maybe just buy the rear half of that yellow kit that locates the location to the original mounting points...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

From reading around it sounds like this factory hole is used and modified slightly to become the new hanger mount? Does that sound right?

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Here is a couple photos showing the offset from the frame, hard to get a photo of with the leaf pack in the way, but yea it definitely looks like a home made offset, which is probably why its located wrong at the back Second photo is the inside of the frame, first photo is the outside of the...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

Drivers side is welded the same and is close to the frame but not touching as the passenger side is. I am guessing the springs are used as the gentleman I bought the car from had a full parts car to swap the drivetrain over, said it was a 72 dart parts car but came with 727 trans and 8 3/4 diff...

    Spring relocation kit installed wrong?

so I bought this car last summer and didn’t have much time to enjoy it, either way mid way through the year I developed a new clunk, looking under the car I noticed my shackles were pancaked flat against the frame, upon further investigation this car has had a spring relocation kit installed...

    Garage finishes

Looks killer! Good idea with the board on the bottom! I wanted the smooth look of Drywall but like you it’s just not durable enough, I settled for osb but it’s not as clean looking as I would have hoped, but it definitely will not be easy to put a hole in it!!

Soon to be New A Body Owner From Saskatchewan

Well made the trip on Friday, one of the first nicer days we’ve had to pick the car up, forced the trailer through the mud to get the car into the garage, now it will wait a little longer until my house is finished and the driveway is done to take it for a cruise, but glad to see it at home. My...

    Garage finishes

Hi Murray, I do agree with the open cabinet idea as well, however doing a lot of woodworking out of the garage it is nice to have some storage kept “cleaner” I will have open shelves as well, and being these cabinets are full 5/8” gables to the floor and 1 1/2” plywood top I wouldn’t be afraid...

Soon to be New A Body Owner From Saskatchewan

Hi all, I got the car from just outside of Saskatoon, and the gentleman we bought it off got it from Alberta but was told the car was originally from California, which would explain the condition of the body as us from canada know most of our cars don’t fare this well after nearly 50 years
