1965 Dart GT basket case, help assembling

Here you go. There were a few spots in the video where the camera guy panned over the very spots I was questioning. It took me forever to find this.

1965 Dart GT basket case, help assembling

I managed to find a youtube video that showed what I needed to see. I've resolved the issue. Thanks again.

1965 Dart GT basket case, help assembling

Hey guys, I got my hands on a mostly finished project car, a 1965 Dart GT, and I'm attempting to finish the project. I'm working on door seals right now. Could someone here who owns one of these cars snap a picture for me? I need a picture of the seal right where the top of the door window...

    The THING?

Those of you who have driven through Arizona may have seen one of these signs. My Thing! A sight to behold! My Thing! Mystery of the desert! My Thing! Happiness ahead! My Thing! Have you seen it? What is it? My Thing! So come see my thing. It's located on exit 322, otherwise...

Very likely the same exact pump though.

    800 mile roadtrip

The pickup and sending unit are new. I replaced it not long after I bought the car. The tank is original, but it looked pretty clean at the time so I didn't feel the need to replace it. Not rusty or anything. I did that mod where I did away with the factory hard line that ran across the front...

    800 mile roadtrip

Hehehe, nice~ Okay fellas.... I'm home. The grand total covered was 1788 miles. That's from going to Fresno, heading down to San Diego, and then back home. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is on it's way out. That's why I was having that surging issue (fuel starvation). On my way home, it would...

    800 mile roadtrip

I'm thinking there's crap floating in the bowl that gets shaken up every time I hit a bump. I'll check it when there's a little more light outside. I caught a hotel room.

    800 mile roadtrip

Update I'm on my way home to Arizona, and I've run into an issue. The car surges on acceleration, up hills, after hitting major bumps, and sometimes completely at random. I changed the fuel filter, and I verified the fuel pump is working by watching the fuel filter fill up on running. The...

    800 mile roadtrip

880 miles later, and I made it. My hind end is killing me, but I'm alive. I'll try to have some good pictures for you fellas when I get home in a couple of weeks. Didn't even eat a drop of oil either.

    800 mile roadtrip

Alright well I'm heading out today. If any of you fellas see a clapped out white Valiant on the side of the road between southeast AZ and central California... that'll be me. You don't have to stop unless I've got the "help me" flag up (the hood is open). Or if you see a big guy rolling around...

    800 mile roadtrip

The car got me through 2 years of college without much issue. Just my first year of college netted me around 8 grand on the odometer.

    800 mile roadtrip

I'm going to be cruising right through the same general area that Steve has his grape farm. If the Roadkill fellas stop to help me out if I break down, I'll make sure to take a picture. I'm taking some rolls of Fuji 400 for the trip.

The ballast is eliminated in my car because I installed the pertronix system, complete with coil. However, I have two ballasts, the original coil, and points all as a backup just in case. Fuel hose and clamps... check mark Heater hose and clamps... check mark Fan belt... I'll snag one on the...

    800 mile roadtrip

Well it's a matter of taking my only car. The other car I own is a 65 dart GT, and it doesn't run yet. That one was a full restore, and it needs finishing up. It doesn't run, it doesn't stop, and it doesn't have engine cooling. If I borrowed a car from family, I have the choice of a 2017 F150...

    800 mile roadtrip

I've had AAA for over 10 years. Ever since I first got my drivers license. Only ever had to use it one time, when I locked myself out of the car. I couldn't imagine not having it.

Actually I've kept a small tarp in all my cars (all two of them) for years because of this very thing.

Yep brand new belts. Swapping brushes on these old mopar units is pretty easy. It's not much harder than swapping brushes in a dremel tool. Just a couple screws and they pop right out. I could do it in five minutes.

    800 mile roadtrip

Ah yes, that's the "probably more I've forgotten". I replaced the alternator brushes with new, and kept the half used ones as spare. I have spare bulbs for everything, the heater core is new, and so is the hose. I always keep TP handy. I'll snag a new spare fusible link though. Thanks!

    800 mile roadtrip

Heh yeah, I was watching an episode while asking the question, so it sort of worked its way in there. I figure the man does a lot of what I'm about to do, so I was looking for ideas from his videos. I'm one of those types of people who plans out a trip to every detail, makes lists, packs weeks...

    LONG covid? COVID Pneumonia?

The whole country is full of people just like them. It all started when Obamacare reared its ugly head. You see... my family has a long history with the medical industry (and yes I called it an industry). Parents, grandparents... all were employees at a hospital at one point or another. So we...

    800 mile roadtrip

I'm heading one state over to visit some family this Christmas. It's going to be roughly an 800+ mile road trip (one way) in my 71 Valiant 225 \6. Any suggestions on spares or tools I should bring along? I mostly keep a pretty well stocked tool kit in the back, along with plenty of the most...

    LONG covid? COVID Pneumonia?

I've had the coronavirus twice now. The first time was right at the very beginning, right when the variant was 'deadliest'. I was sick for 1-2 weeks (normal for me), and it was like a nasty cold. I have a reputation of getting sick, and I'm not the healthiest fella, so I think it was harder on...

    71 Valiant source for upholstery?

No. But in the two years I've been looking for upholstery for my poor ol Valiant, I've noticed the coronet upholstery is more common. So if the seats were the same size or close enough, I would just buy coronet upholstery and put it in the valiant..... at least... if it wasn't 10 inches wider...

    71 Valiant source for upholstery?

Hey fellas Does anyone know where I could buy replacement upholstery for a 71 Valiant 4 door? You know... the one without the split in the front bench seat? I've tried all the usual sources, but none of them have the right one. I don't care if it's a perfect reproduction, I just want it to fit...
