    necking down after collecter?

While a 3" pipe has about the same area as dual 2" pipes, dual 2" pipes will not flow as good as a single 3".The reason is simple, anytime you have air moving over a surface the air in immediate proximity to the surface doesn't actually move. The air "sticks" to objects, Its stationary at the...

CCW guys and gals- any good deals on firearms this week?

I could be wrong here, but I have never understood the appeal of glocks. They are much too square and blocky. In ergonomics things are generally round and smooth. Then again I have a thing for round and curvy,Growing up I had pictures of ferraris on my bedroom walls, not volvo's.Women gotta have...

CCW guys and gals- any good deals on firearms this week?

Fire arms are ALWAYS loaded. Not carrying with a round in the chamber is about as short sighted as one could be.Second to that is carrying with the safety on.Both are assuming that their will be enough time to get the gun ready to fire when SHTF.The average self defense situation occurs at less...

People who let rare cars rot.

This thread makes me feel bad.I want to get started on my 73 scamp but I need to clean up,organize, and build work benches in my shop before I can do anything to the scamp.Meanwhile the scamp is sitting on my driveway under a tree.

CCW guys and gals- any good deals on firearms this week?

For CCW I use a 9mm beretta nano. its fairly accurate and fast shooting for what it is.I went to a gun range and tested a bunch of sub-compact 9's, and it had the best grouping out of the bunch, although it does spread a bit if you spaz the trigger. With my gargantuan meat hooks it fired...

    Header fitment rant, Doug's

Nope I'm doing 10x the work to make headers fit so I can build the car into something I can bomb down old logging roads with. The dakota suspension gives rack and pinion steering, bigger brakes, and a much stronger suspension design.Merely as an added bonus it will free up header space.

Submarines Don't (didn't) Fight One Another

So they dumped alot of sand and rock to fill up a ditch underwater, but did nothing at all to clean up the mess. How is that considered clean up?

    Header fitment rant, Doug's

After reading this entire thread,I am glad that I will be putting the front suspension and crossmember from a 90's dakota under my 73 scamp. The rack and pinion steering is way out of the way and I ditch the torsion bars.Granted I will be using a set of 1.75 longtube headers off a ram pickup so...

    Push Rod Engines

I actually like metric for some things. For instance its easier to measure out 7 mm than a cunthair bigger than 17/64.Metric math is a hell of a lot easier than imperial math. 7mm + 8mm=15mm vs 17/64 + 5/16= 17/64+20/64=37/64.Not to mention my micrometer either does decimal inches or decimal mm...

    Push Rod Engines

Flathead fords are simpler and smaller still.Maybe we should keep using those too?Just like the flathead, pushrods are dieing.Besides why in the hell are we talking about crapvettes on a mopar site?

how do you feel about electric performance cars?

Evs are pretty cool from a performance standpoint. While our electrical grid cant support it yet there are some niche applications where an all electric powertrain flat out destroys a gas or diesel engine.Drag racing, trails dirt biking, even offroading.anything where "range" isnt a big deal.The...

    rwd 2.4L?

The Plymouth Arrow is a captive import ma mopar brought in.Its a rwd 2 door coupe sold overseas as the Mitsubishi lancer celeste. It was powered by a either a 1.6L,2.0, or a 2.6L 4 cylinder engine.a 4 speed manual was standard but 5 speed manuals were optional as well as 3 speed automatics.Rear...

    rwd 2.4L?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but if its not, feel to move it where it belongs. I have a 78 plymouth arrow that I would like to put a(non-world) 2.4L four cylinder into to use as a cheap rwd gas saver.140-150 hp in a car that weighs 2K lbs should still be fun enough to use...

like I said the stock magnum head has a bigger exhaust valve than the aluminum heads.Thats BS.Especially when our engines favor the exhaust stroke because of the long rod/short stroke.

    road race engine...

The weight savings on the aluminum head would be nice, but all of the aluminum magnum heads are fecking chevy bullshit adapted to fit a mopar. They all have 2.02 and 1.60 valves and you have to run 3/8" chevy 1.6 rocker arms.In stock form the magnums have 1.92 and 1.625 and the combustion chamber...

You can get 400 hp out of a 318 just by fixing the compression ratio, and allowing more flow in/out of the engine.According to this article 318 Engine Build - A Parts Book 400HP 318 - Mopar Muscle Magazine it can be done on the cheap. My question is what would it take to make that engine live a...

    Spring rate

Anyone have a chart or a listing of what the stock front and rear spring rates are?The rear springs in 73 scamp seem pretty shot because a transmission was stored in the trunk when I got it.So the springs were full on negative arch.I removed the transmission and the spare parts that were kept...
