340 exhaust manifold vs stock 318

I didn't see it mentioned here but I had to remove the 45° oil filter adapter and mod the trans filler tube to put a magnum passenger side manifold on. Had to mount the oil filter straight to the block.

    318/8 Speed Swap

So use the V6 converter with the 318 and others with more powerful engines.

    318/8 Speed Swap

All of y'all worried about the stall needed for the 318 forget that this trans is used behind the 3.6 Pentastar V6 also. About the same torque as a 318.

    One oily intake valve...

Was the port oily? If so, could be a leaking intake gasket at the bottom into the valley.

    Replacement Oil Pans

I bought a Dorman replacement rear sump pan and it appears to be as thick as an oem. It fit well and doesn't leak. I don't know if Dorman makes centersump pans though.

    Slant 6 on a V8 k member?

You will also need the car engine brackets and mounts, the dipstick and tube. The truck dipstick goes through the pan but cars go through the block where there is a plugged hole. K member swap would be easiest but if you can cut and weld, you can modify yours.

    1978 318

There is a kit available that uses the front of the np203 t-case, the low range part, and bolts it to the np 205 t-case. You will have part time 4wd with 1 to 1 gearing, 2 to 1 low range and 4 to 1 double low range.

    1978 318

Don't ditch the np203. Get a doubler kit to make a np203-np205 doubler using the range box from the 203 bolted to the 205.

    1978 318

A 318 specific 4 barrel intake with a 1901 holley street demon well tuned, a free flowing exhaust and a well curved hot ignition system will do wonders for a 318. Will it be a 440? No. I have an e48 318 with a 1901 street demon carb but otherwise stock in my 1984 W100 with a 727 (no stall)...

    New Street Demon carbs

I have a 1901 on my stock 318 and I love it. I have a 1406 eddie on my 360 and love it alot less.

    TQ replacement

I have the 1901 street demon and love it. Before you install, take the top off and check the float levels. Mine were off quite a bit. It should run good ootb but if you have a wide band afr gauge, you can really dial it in. Report your results please.

    Another TQ question

You really need a wide band to tune a carb nowdays. Gas is much different than it was when these carbs were tuned making yesterdays tune not accurate today.

    Really? Edelbrock/Holley

I'll take a a Holley Street Demon for a reliable street carb. I don't race so I don't know how it will workd there. If you like thermoquads, you will like the Street Demon.

Continuing saga of the leaking ThermoQuad fuel bowl

I put a Street Demon 625 on a 318 in my W100. After tuning with the calibration kit and an afr gauge it runs great. The throttle response is way better than the 1406 Edelbrock it replaced. Fuel economy is good too.
