No, it hasn't been resolved unfortunately. The hissing is still there - bearable with the Borgeson coupler, unbearable with the very expensive Bergman coupler that I now have no use for. Wish I could be of more help!

[Found!] 1968 Barracuda 340S 727 Torque Converter Cover

Just had my recently purchased Cuda up in a lift in the shop for the first time and noticed that the torque converter is missing its cover. Looking for a cover and the screws/hardware to install it. The car is a 1968 Barracuda 340S with auto trans 727.

Replacing original radio and dash speaker in 68 Barracuda

Does anyone know what these electrical connectors are called and/or where to buy them? Found an open female connector for the yellow constant wire, but I need a male to hook up to it.

Replacing original radio and dash speaker in 68 Barracuda

I actually got it to fit pretty well, but never did the final installation. I did need to shave down the thumbwheel openings in the bezel a hair on each side to get it to come through - I got them to protrude about the same amount as the stock radio. I've been reading not-so-good things...

Replacing original radio and dash speaker in 68 Barracuda

I'm looking to wire up the new radio and am having some trouble, was hoping someone could lend some advice. When I removed the Pioneer that the previous owner had installed under the air vents, a bunch of the wires kind of fell out so I did not know here they were originally attached. I have...

Replacing original radio and dash speaker in 68 Barracuda

Just wanted to say a big "thank you" for the posts and information so far. My son and I successfully got the old stereo out and new speaker installed this afternoon. Going to try and reference the dimensions of the stereo when assembling the RetroSound unit, hopefully will be able to throw...

Replacing original radio and dash speaker in 68 Barracuda

I recently bought a RetroSound Redondo and 4x10 stereo speaker replacement for my 1968 Barracuda. I'm just getting started, removed the 90s Pioneer that was hanging under the vent assembly, then removed the vent assembly and a bracket at the rear of the original radio. I can't see anything...

    BORGESON steering box

Just an update: I sent the video to Borgeson and they still believe it is the coupler: "That is a known issue with the Bergman coupler. Definitely noise transfer through the column." I'd hate to go through all of the trouble and expense of swapping out the coupler, but I'm not going to be...

    BORGESON steering box

This is the only photo I have of that end - I can take better ones next weekend if you need anything specific.

    BORGESON steering box

I totally agree, I don't understand how the coupler would be the source of this kind of noise. The only answer they'd give me is to use the Borgeson coupler, not a ton of help.

    BORGESON steering box

Not a great video, but this will give you an idea Notice how the sound is most pronounced when the when is center, and becomes much quieter (but still there) when the wheel is turned in either direction. It sounds exactly like the air being let out of a tire.

    BORGESON steering box

Is anyone that is getting the hissing sound using the Borgeson Mopar Steering Coupler part 036425? I heard from their support person (Josh), and he tells me that the sound is a result of NOT using their Mopar Steering Coupler "Because it (the BAC) doesn’t have a vibration reducer in the coupler...

    BORGESON steering box

I tried mine cold today and could not hear a difference in volume cold vs. warmed-up but I will continue to keep an eye on it. Here are a few photos, it's tough to get pictures of the mounts. Looks like mine are part of the casting, not welded on. Guess I should have taken pre-installation...

    BORGESON steering box

I JUST picked up my car from the shop (68 Cuda 340) and the steering feels great, but I've got the same hissing issue as well. Sounds like it's coming right out of the steering column, but I can't hear it over the engine noise in the compartment when running. Were you able to figure out a...

    BORGESON steering box

On the off chance someone here has installed the Borgeson power steering box on an early LA 340 engine, what pump did you use? Turns out the Saginaw style pump and bracket from Borgeson are not compatible with my engine (68 Cuda, built in 67). Scrambling to figure something out That works...

    BORGESON steering box

Just an FYI to all of those interested, I got the latest Mopar Muscle magazine yesterday and there is an article in there on installing the Borgeson power steering box & pump in a Dart. Good step-by-step walk through and lots of photos.

    BORGESON steering box

Very cool, thanks for clarifying. The guy I bought the car from had a manual box installed, so I don't have the original hoses.

    BORGESON steering box

Well I do have the BAC coupler, so hopefully no mutilation will be necessary. Can you elaborate on the hoses? I bought the Borgeson hoses, but it's going to be a while before I install everything. Didn't realize the BAC hoses were different from the Borgeson set. Any other details/info...

    BORGESON steering box

What kind of engine do you have? I've got a '68 Cuda Formula S with a 340 and I'm looking to install one one of these boxes and the Borgeson Saginaw pump. Just wondering if you had any issues making everything fit. My car has a manual box currently but originally had power steering from the...

Mopar Mechanic/Garage in Chicago Northern Suburbs?

I've got a 68 Barracuda that I need to have some work done on - specifically upgrading the manual steering to power. Any recommendations on good Mopar shops in and around Chicago? Just got the car, so I don't have a "go-to" shop yet. Thanks in advance!
