    Bad sensor or bad gauge?

My temperature gauge is reading 230°. I put the temp gun on it and the actual temperature is 160. I grounded the wire from the sensor and it maxed out which tells me the gauge is working. Does this sound like a sensor issue or gauge issue.

    Billet Specialties Thermostat Housing?

I’m throwing in the towel on my cheap thermostat housing. Im tired of chasing leaks. I see some recommendations on here for the billet specialties O-ring type housing and was curious if anyone had any negative things to say about it.

15 years with the wrong belt routing

I put a small block in my Dart when I was 18 years old (2008). I am learning today that I’ve had my belt routine wrong from day one. My alternator belt goes from the crank to the alternator and back. Power steering belt goes from the crank to water pump to PS pump. I’m only finding out now...

Is it time for a new radiator?

My Dart has been overheating after short drives. I’ve changed the water pump, thermostat, and fan and it’s still over heating. No shroud because after many years I have not been able to find one. The radiator is 15 years old and it’s a cheap Chinese unit. I’m curious if it’s just time to spend...

    Fuel pressure regulator leaking.

I noticed some fuel leaking around my pressure regulator and it appears to be coming from where the two main pieces of the body come together. Is it common to replace the gaskets on those or will I just need to fork out the money for a new unit. Picture for reference.

    Favorite Family Heirlooms

My wife and I recently had our first child and it got me excited to pass some things along to him. Of course he will get some guns and knives but I was curious about what other things people have that they really cherish.

How to measure for a shroud?

I have a radiator that has surface width of 25”. Flange to flange is 30”. It’s in a small block Dart and is fairly thin. Would this be considered a 26” radiator?

    Temperature sensor wiring question.

I just finished installing a water temp gauge and transmission temperature gauge. Both are working but the transmission temperature didn’t move until about a mile into the drive and then it stayed around 115. I realized I did wire them differently though and wanted to see if that had an effect...

Do I need to adjust valves with hyd. lifters?

I’ve noticed a little noise coming from the top end of my motor. Haven’t had time to pull the valve covers off yet. I’ve always read that hydraulic lifters don’t require you to adjust valves unless one of the rocker arms was taken apart. Is this true?

What belts for PS and alternator?

What belts are you guys running on your small block? Mine has been a faithful soldier for the last 15 years but I don’t want to push my luck.

Getting a loud pop and no audio from speakers.

I haven’t driven my car in six years. It’s getting close so today I decided to see if the audio still worked. Head unit fired up and I could hear beeping as I went through the menu. Plugged in the USB and tried to play a song and I heard a pop from the speakers then the head unit restarted. Same...

Any idea how to remove dark spots from paint? This is the original paint on my 73 Dart. I’ve tried buffing and regular washing.

    Leaking shock?

I’ve noticed this twice now with my car. The first time I had zero break fluid in the entire car but when I pushed it around the shop I noticed a very small leak. It didn’t have much of a smell to it and not much color. Well today my dad tells me that there is a leak in the same spot. He thought...

    Tips for removing gauge cluster?

Any one have any tips for getting the gauge cluster out? I need to replace the IVR with a solid state unit. I’m not real big on electrical or interior work so any tips are greatly appreciated.

    What electric do you run?

I’ll start off by saying, I understand mechanical oil pressure gauge is what you have run for 30 years with no issues. I want to run an electrical 3 gauge set up. My main reason is because of the water temp gauge and not being able to install it in the proper location. I saw some Equus gauges...

    [Found!] FMJ Spindles

I’m in need of a drivers side FMJ spindle. I’m willing to make a drive to pick these up and I am located in Cincinnati.

    What spindles do I need?

I have a 73 swinger that I converted to disc brakes. I used mostly F body parts besides the upper control arms. My drivers side spindle is bent so now I need a new one. Will I have to use an F body spindle? Here is a picture if that helps with anything.

[FOR SALE] Stock J heads and 340 Torker Intake

I’m selling a set of factory J heads and a edlebrock 340 Torker intake. Both came off a 360 that was in a motor home and I ran both for 6 years before removing them in 2014. The heads will need to be cleaned up as they have sat on a self since 2014 along with the intake. I’m looking for $250 for...

Two steps forward and a giant leap backwards.

I was getting my Dart ready for its maiden voyage and decided to throw some fresh oil in it. The engine has less than 5 miles on it but it’s been sitting for a few years with start ups roughly every month. Oil never looked bad but I wanted to be safe. This is what I found. Smelled like fuel...

Tire discounters can’t align my Dart.

I dropped of my Swinger on Wednesday for an alignment. Got a call the next day asking what parts my front end came from. They could tell everything was new because I installed all new moog parts and new shocks. Upper control arm came from another dart and the LCA never came off the car. Zero...

Car doesn’t move until high RPMS.

At this point I’m not sure if this is a transmission issue or a kickdown issue so I’m posting in in here. My car has been sitting a long time due to brake issues. Went to load it onto the trailer Saturday and noticed it was really struggling to get up the ramps. It finally got up there at around...

    Cold fluid level?

My car was struggling to climb up onto the trailer over the weekend. Tonight I went over to check the fluid and of course didn’t have the keys. I checked it cold just for fun and it was at the add quart line. I don’t even know if there is a solid answer to this but what should the level be when...
