Pics From 2010 Mopars At The Strip

Our '73 Dart Sport 340 took 2nd Place in the judged "A-Body Stock" category, and was also selected for the "Cannery's Choice" show on Friday night (30 cars only). Plus, our '09 Challenger R/T won 2nd Place in the judged "New Hemi" category. All in all, we were pretty happy with the event! 8)

MATS Cruise: Scottsdale to Vegas - Route Info

Anyone planning to join us on the Scottsdale to Vegas cruise to MATS please take note: - According to the Arizona Dept. of Transportation, there will be major blasting work along U.S. Highway 93 near Hoover Dam on Thursday, 3/25. This work could delay traffic an additional 2 hours in crossing...

1972 triple black badboy (FACE LIFT)

Personally, I would leave the Duster just the way it is. The black stripe-delete look is very clean, and its goes great with a flat black hood. Not every A-body needs stripes! Of course, I'm probably a little biased.

    Goodyear Polyglas Tires

Anyone know the best source for 14 inch Goodyear Polyglas tires to fit a '73 A-body? I'm having difficulty locating these tires in 14 inch sizes. Thanks.

    WOW '70 340 duster sells for $38.5k..

I didn't say it was good for the hobby. I just stated a fact -- Barrett-Jackson sets the tempo for collector car prices, and this sale will be used as a benchmark going forward. Can you imagine what this car would have sold for if it had been in correct, #1 condition??

    Auction Tragedy in Scottsdale

I'll be heading up there later this morning once the weather clears a little bit. I can tell you that it's not going to be pretty. Those tent support poles were 6 inches in diameter, and about 60 ft. high. When the south tent fell, we could hear metal crunching and glass breaking. I'm guessing...

    WOW '70 340 duster sells for $38.5k..

I am very familiar with the Duster in question, and was at BJ when it went across the block yesterday. Here's the low-down: this car was brought to the Russo and Steele auction last year by some guy from Philly; it only attracted an $18K high bid and did not meet the seller's reserve. Following...

    Auction Tragedy in Scottsdale

After we evacuated the main auction tent, my wife and stood on the south side of the property and watched as the wind tore down the south tent. It was unreal. We saw 6 inch diameter steel poles falling on cars. The tent fabric was flapping hundreds of feet in the air. I'll never forget the sound...

    Auction Tragedy in Scottsdale

I don't see how they can continue with the remainder of the auction. Too much damage. I'm a registered bidder, and will go back up there tomorrow to see if there's anything I can do to help out.

    Auction Tragedy in Scottsdale

Just got out of the Russo and Steele auction here in Scottsdale. Tornado-like conditions forced the evacuation of the entire auction site. The two main tents for auction cars were blown down by 60 mph plus winds. Many priceless muscle cars, including some very rare Mopars, were damaged or...

Whats it worth? 73 Dart Sport

I own one, too (bought it in 1976), after owning two '70 Duster 340s. I've always loved the '73 Dart Sports -- they're the best looking A-body ever made IMHO. The performance ain't that bad, either. I have to laugh at the so-called "experts" who will gush all over a '72 Duster or Demon 340 (no...

    TTI exhaust too loud

I have the TTI/Dynomax set up (2.5 inch) on my Dart Sport 340, and that's my reaction, too. This system is MUCH louder than the old Sonic Turbos and stock pipes I ran back in the day. Are the Accurate Exhaust mufflers that much quieter than the Dynomax? If so, I may have to investigate them.

    Cold-blooded 340

Hose in is place. I'm wondering if it could be the fuel pump? My mechanic has looked at the carb, and just doesn't seen any problem with it.

    Cold-blooded 340

The 340 still has the stock intake. Choke appears to be working (at least, it will kick on to high idle after just a minute or so). I know it's getting gas to the carb when pumped; for some reason, it just seems like it takes a lot of gas to get the engine to fire, and at that point, it acts...

    Cold-blooded 340

I hope someone can give me advice regarding my Dart Sport 340. My engine was rebuilt about a year and a half ago, and it still has the original Thermoquad carb (carb was rebuilt, too). The car has always been cold-blooded (tough to start on cold mornings), and lately this problem seems to have...

    A-body Undercarriage Markings?

Anyone know of an accurate source of information on correct A-body factory undercarriage markings (i.e., suspension paint splotches, grease pen marks, etc.)? There is plenty of reference material for Challengers, Cudas, etc., but seemingly no information about Dusters, Darts and Demons. Thanks.

Anyone remember or use "Sonic Turbo" mufflers?

Sonic Turbo mufflers pre-date the 1980s. I ran them on my Dart Sport 340 back in the mid to late 70s. They were a highly regarded muffler. I always loved their deep tone. If you have two new ones, you're a lucky man!

Boise State University !!!!! try to stop us !

I'm from Boise originally and attended BSU from '77-'79. My wife went there, too. Trust me, none of the C.S. big names schools from the Midwest and East want to come to Bronco Stadium and play on the blue turf. They're all afraid of an ambush and losing face -- big time! I was at the Fiesta Bowl...

    Carb recommendation needed

I'm thinking about replacing the existing Carter Thermoquad carburetor on my '73 340. Does anyone have a recommendation for a new (modern) carb that would work well on this engine? The engine is entirely stock. Thanks in advance for your help.

Car Hauler to Mopars at the Strip?

Anyone from the Phoenix area taking a car hauler to Mopars at the Strip in March? I'm trying to find someone with extra space in a car hauler, who might be willing (for a handsome fee, of course!) to transport my Dart Sport 340 up to Vegas for the show. If you have availability, please PM with...

TTI exhaust, is it worth it??

The TTI exhaust is a nice looking product, but they don't fit for crap. Lots of installation issues with this system.

    How would you save Dodge?

Yeah, well the unions have done a lot to ruin it too. They've been in bed with the big spending, corrupt Democratic machine for longer anyone can remember. Labor unions have a role to play for workers, but they need to stay out of politics.

    '72 Demon 340, TX9 Black w/ White Stripe

That's true...you run into a lot of clones out there. Not mine -- it's an original, numbers matching 340 car I've owned since the mid-70s. Patrick: Good to see that you're staying busy! I met you at MATS last year; we talked about Mr. Norm's Super Challengers. You'll recall I left you a phone...

Anyone got Keystone Klassics on their A-Body?

Check out the photos in my profile. I've run Keystones on my Dart Sport 340 since the mid-70s. IMHO, they are the nicest custom wheel ever made -- and a good choice for a black car!
