    Ammeter conversion and power rerouting

Not yet. A bunch of everything else has taken priority. I have a new harness built and made up a cover plate for the new bulkhead connector, but I haven't installed any of it yet.

[WANTED] '65 barracuda 225 exhaust and 2 bbl intake

Thank you for the offer Rug. I'm buying the one from tdemo53. I'm still looking for exhaust though.

[WANTED] '65 barracuda 225 exhaust and 2 bbl intake

Looks like a simple enough fix. Either modifying the existing linkage, building a new one, or installing a cable. Great to know going into it, at least I can have a plan in place.

[WANTED] '65 barracuda 225 exhaust and 2 bbl intake

I hadn't seen that in my searching. Good information to have though. I'll keep this single and use it to practice my aluminum fab skills I guess, thank you.

[WANTED] '65 barracuda 225 exhaust and 2 bbl intake

Looking for a dual exhaust (3-2-1) setup for my ride. Dutra dual type is preferred, but open to others. Also wanting a 2bbl intake to replace the 1 bbl. They seem to be hard to find. Open to suggestions as well. I've searched and searched, but everything I'm finding is bank breaking worthy.

    Help to identify

They are absolutely for the lights. I have no idea what the front of a rally dash looks like, but are they not indicator lights of some sort? It seems odd for 3 taps separated like that to feed dash lighting.

    LED Dash bulbs

At whatever level the dimmer came set at, it's eye friendly. My camera is just being a sensitive punk and makes it seem bright. It's cleaner, but slightly less than full oem brightness. Figured out a relative comparison for brightness since my phone camera is sensitive. The reflection is...

Blue. Has less impact on night vision.

    LED Dash bulbs

Pwm dimmer came in, so strip LED mod went into effect. I'll take night time pics tonight. Red wire for "full brightness" is just heat shrunk and tucked, not connected to anything. I cleaned up the board and tinned all of the contacts, as well as soldered pins in place. This ride hasn't...

    LED Dash bulbs

Doesn't really matter which you get. Just make sure they're 12v rated. I have no doubt that they're all made in the same couple of factories. LED strip, then a pwm dimmer and you're set. Or, no dimmer and have them bright. I have not bought a set that comes with a power supply and a dimmer...

Rear end for 65 barracuda with 5x4.5 bolt pattern

I don't recall any of the 8.8 measurements, but aren't most of them off center as well? Not a deal breaker, but would require more work than simple bracket welding.

    LED Dash bulbs

I figured. I really like your idea, and I was researching making led strings dim. Due to design, they really don't like dimming the same way incandescent bulbs do. A pwm dimmer essentially turns them on and off really quick to give the appearance of being dimmed. I found these and put a...

    LED Dash bulbs

Do they dim with the switch, or did you have to use a pwm dimmer?

    Light switch relay

It's a single point of failure as it is, with a higher probability wired orm style. Headlight relays alleviate almost all of the risk. The extra stuff I'm thinking of doesn't change any risk, just changes where the failure would occur. 50 year old light switch, or new fuse block. However...

    Light switch relay

I need to ohm out the light switch. It looks like the dome lights always have power, and the light switch and door switches simply ground them out. Redfish, B2 looks to power auxiliary lights, with an extra tap for brake lights. The way I'm reading the drawing, the stop light switch has...

    Light switch relay

A couple of reasons, the first is to get rid of glass fuses. No hazards, so that's not a concern. The second is one side of one of the fuses is missing and another fuse is wrapped in foil. Since I have to tear into it anyway and ensure wires aren't fubar, I might as well upgrade. But...

    Light switch relay

I'm going to be installing a new fuse block. I'm cheap, but classy, and the fuse block I picked up is not oem style. It's has a (+) bus, with the separate circuits branching off. This creates a problem with keyed hot vs constant hot. Easy enough to use relays for keyed hot and use original...

    Ammeter conversion and power rerouting

Thanks to all of the info here, I got ahead of a potential problem and converted my ammeter to a voltmeter. Of course, the voltmeter swings backwards of the ammeter, but I know what the marks mean. I made a new cable (8 gauge) from the alternator to a bulkhead battery terminal. A short jump...

    Initial timing

The timing chain has everything to do with your timing being correct at tdc. Sloppy timing chain and no amount of computerized test equipment will help you out. Pretty long winded post to agree with us all that timing by ear isn't a great option.

    Initial timing

I'll have to find a marker plate to attach and check. Timing chain is tight, so tdc *should* be accurate.

    Initial timing

I find I tend to advance a little too much. Get it sounding good, turn it off, and then it fights to fire back up. Back it off a little bit and all is well. My Jeep is advanced off of the timing marks, and it loves it. I use the light to guesstimate the mark. Nice and steady ~20* btdc...

    65 Barracuda

Thank you all! Overall, it's a really nice car. Complete, and appears to be a virgin. Wiring harness isn't even hacked up. A few bubbles in the paint, but I think it's all surface. Passenger floor board is Flintstone style. Looks like I'll be home fabbing floor plans, as there really...

    Initial timing

I grew up on old Chevy's. Distributor only went in 2 ways. You were either right or wrong, no "close, but you suck". Timing by ear is probably the absolute worse way to get it done. I'll end up getting a vacuum gauge and going that route. Next up is converting to hei. It's been a couple...

This one I have the pleasure of timing by ear. No timing plate. Yay me.

    Initial timing

Hello all, Let's pretend for a minute that I'm a blubbering fool. Took out the distributor to clean it up. I checked position before hand, and set it to point roughly 12 o'clock. Put it back in, timing was off. Figured I set it off just a tooth. Adjusted, set it back in. Fired up, timing...

    65 Barracuda

Hello, New to the forums and to Mopar. Just picked up a 65 Barracuda, and already this site has pointed me in several right directions. Figured I'll be using the information a lot in the near future so I should at least make an account to express my appreciation.
