I see what you mean. Well we’re on opposing sides on his aesthetic opinion bc I feel the white letters look pretty cool although I do like the all black look too

And here are pictures of it now. 255/60R15 & 225/60R15 The 225’s fit but are tight, as you guys said they’re close when being turned but not hitting. It may be an alignment issue, I’ll have more answers soon. But they do clear. Images attached.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

I have a 15x6 with 4” backspacing for the front and I’ll have 15x8 with 4.5” backspacing in the rear for the 255’s

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

So it looks like I’m going with 225’s in the front. I’m not in a place in this build where I’d consider cutting to fit a bigger tire. Thanks for everyone’s help. I’ll post pictures once the tires are on the car. Wheels and tires should arrive by Saturday in the meantime I am looking into...

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

If I had known I was going to run into this situation I probably would’ve trimmed it the way you did. At this point, it’s not an option. My cars painted and this is practically the last of what’s needed. I wouldn’t mind snipping the inside lip corner if I need to but a modification like yours I...

Ok I’ll definitely make sure to do this. Thanks so much man. This thread is for dudes like me that LOVE cars but are just now learning about the ins and outs and the complexities of it all. Not to mention the amount of money it takes to get it to look good.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Ok so the tire is a little taller but not as wide. At this point I’m going to have to mount it to find out. As for the rear wheel, I’m going with 255 so a 15x8 is best correct?

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Isn’t this tire taller than the 235/60R15? Did you have to roll or cut the inside lip of the wheel fender?

    How about the front?

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Yes small bolt front disc brakes but I am unsure of the spindles or the brake kit, my dad set that up and I’m not as well versed in this to remember. I currently have 15x6 oem steelies for the front which I aimed to try 235’s on but will obviously do with whatever the car allows. I don’t plan...

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Would customizing the backspacing on the front tires make any difference? There’s a local guy here in socal that will get the most out of backspacing by modifying the wheels. So I’m hoping that’ll help.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Thanks for the images. Once I get the tires I’ll run those tests to make sure I have enough clearance in the front.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

For the front I have the 15x6 and I planned on putting 235’s on the front, I didn’t think clearing would be a problem and yes I have disc brakes in the front. I guess I’ll have to measure the front now. Will I need 15x7 if I want to mount 235’s in the front?

Ok. So what exactly is your point? That I need to see it while car is running? Make sure it’s grounded correctly?

Changing gauge cluster light bulbs - How To

I really hope that’s not the case. It was rebuilt a year ago and has been sitting out of the car unused until this year. I never thought about putting LED’s in while it was still out because honestly I thought the brand new bulbs put in during restoration were going to be more than good enough...

Changing gauge cluster light bulbs - How To

I won’t be driving much at night but the few times I have it really bugged me that I had spent so much to make it look nice and original, but couldn’t see the numbers at night. Is that a common thing that happens to the lenses with LED’s? I’ve never heard of that, and a lot of guys are putting LED’s

I checked the dimmer, turned it all the way to brightest and it went up slightly but it’s still not bright enough. It looks like I’ll be changing the bulbs soon. Thanks for all your help gents.
