    Test test test

The chamber wall is, in reality much taller than your drawing...if you do it right (chamber shape from the seat to the deck) the bore intrusion is no big deal honestly and it does make more power than keeping it tight like say a 4.080 gasket bore. I don't do this as much now as I've learned how...

    TF & Speedmaster Flow Tests

Yes so far I've not touched it to get that power...I've also not build anything crazy with them...i.e. solid roller, high compression, etc...but I feel removing it using E85 may be proper...hopefully. I would love to try it but so far the power has been good leaving it in.

    TF & Speedmaster Flow Tests

So far I've left the vane in, but if I ever do an E85 engine with them, I'll remove it.

    TF & Speedmaster Flow Tests

I know for us, when we build a 408 hyd. roller deal, pump gas, I have to make changes to the intake porting on the TF head if we want more than 540HP. Those changes allow 575+ at a real 10.6:1 compression! And the port doesn't really end up flowing much more air...you have to remember the...

387” W2 Stroker, What should I upgrade next?

I would do a compression test to try and figure the compression before I ordered a cam, but I can tell you if the heads are not ported, it'll be slow. Also headers are too small for W2 engine, and the dual plane...big time power loss! I would install low gear set in the trans before changing...

Head flow and power differences question / discussion

Is that corrected HP or uncorrected?

Head flow and power differences question / discussion

We've made just under 580HP with them, using a hyd. roller cam! But they need work, they were not ootb heads at all. Compression was 10.7:1.

Speedmaster, Edelbrock, ProMax head question for you guys

I port per application, so they're never the same most of the time. I can post some sheets if you want, won't tell much since I don't correspond the flow numbers with fps numbers on the same sheet but I can still post a few if you'd like. I don't think you do anything wrong with your porting...

Speedmaster, Edelbrock, ProMax head question for you guys

When this kind of thing happen, I would try to make the Ferrea valve work more like the other valve in a sense. I suspect the valve job is what's doing this. Bowl %, throat, valve job (either biased or not), and chamber transition play a huge role in getting a fast port to play nice on a flow...

Speedmaster, Edelbrock, ProMax head question for you guys

Not enough info to really know for sure....what intake? rpm target? cam specs? compression? Back cuts? Port speed at .400-.500-.600 lift? exhaust? Really need to know everything about THAT particular engine...I've seen fast ports work, and not work...and I've seen slower ports...

ProMaxx and IMM aluminum small block LA heads

I already do, but i only sell them on builds we do for now...I can't keep up with doing heads AND engines...I'm also working on some rocker kits for engines we build only for now, 1.65 ratio, cup adjuster, build around our import head (will also fit iron heads/edelbrock heads) and will work with...

Real data. EQ standard replacement Magnum head and comparisons with oem and NZ versions.

The biggest problem with the new EQ heads are the seat insert on the intake (it won't take a 2.02 period! Not a correctly done 2.02 valve job anyway) and the fact that the spring seat can't be cut down .100 like the older version making it a low lift deal.

ProMaxx and IMM aluminum small block LA heads

I recommend removing the heads, and bringing pistons on each side of the block to tdc and measure them against the deck to see if they are above or below the deck and by how much.

If your 340 is mild, our import heads work really well. We sell them ready to bolt on.

Indy 360-1 vs Edelbrock RPM heads

Unless it's full on race build, and even then the -2 heads hold their own. If I hand port the -1 heads, they make more power but cost more too.
