1969 Swinger, 340 4Spd, Doug's ceramic coated headers. I started with a Slant 6 Z-Bar, I converted to 340 with Dougs Headers, according to drawings i saw on this site. I dont get enough throw to disengage pressure plate and have any free play. At pedal rest throwout bearing is close to diaphram...

Thank you. I have 4 69 Darts, one being put together, other three parts. When one done (a long time from now) I will part with other three. One GT (built with 6, not there), 2 69 Swingers, one was 340 4sp, other was 340 auto. One I'm building was 6 auto.

I also have 69 Dart Sw3inger 340. Is it supposed to have aluminum or cast iron water pump? And are water pump pulleys specific for water pump?

That is one beautiful car, had one in 74, 318, auto, buckets. Wish i still had it.

I built my first 340 on home-made , coffee table ( 4"*16" Cedar Beam) in apartment living room in 1974. Did 12.4 at track.
