Ok,thanks for the link! In the photo of the blue 69 340 it has the short pump(iron) if you look at the sides it sticks out and has extra bolt holes on each side is that correct or do 67/68 340's have a different timing cover with those extra in them?

Anyone ever run a small block in an a body with the H.E.I. style distributor? My question would be clearance to the firewall, will it go right in or do you have to massage the wall for fitment? Thanks!

I went with the comp cams thumper camshaft. Bolts right in and you can use a standard 360 timing cover with manual fuel pump. It's drilled for eccentric already plus you get that (thumper) sound! Summit racing for $331 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-20-600-9/

I'm not an expert on rearends but I did talk to one today actually.He said the 742 is the most desirable and uses the same bearings as a dana. Right or wrong?

Here is my opinion(because I own the car!)let's say you buy the car as a stock roller. $1900 wheels and tires $1500 then go buy a 742 case 8 3/4 3.23 posi $600 have it redone with green sealed bearings $300 then buy a SSBC rear disc kit $650 then buy new mopar performance leaf springs...
