For sale is my Corolla TS from 2005 with 253'000km / 157'000 miles. It is a ZZE123 model with the 2ZZ-GE N/A, built number is #00051. The crankcase got a hairline crack - the engine runs good but it loses oil from the crack so the swiss inspection people don't want it on the road anymore.
It is...
Hey guys
I am wondering if anybody here has experience with this curcuit board here Instrument Cluster Circuit Board with Built in Limiter 1972 - 1976 Duster Valiant Dart A-Body
Is it any good? I have problems with my stock circuit board and my replacement part aswell, so I have to buy a...
You mean you replaced the circuit board right? Have you replaced it with a brand new one or an original one?
Instrument Cluster Circuit Board with Built in Limiter 1972 - 1976 Duster Valiant Dart A-Body
I have found this modified board on vansauto.com with a built in limiter. I assume it works...
I always have had a problem with my temp/fuel gauge not working. Later I found out one the connectors where the IVR gets in is loose, so I disassembled another dash cluster I have in my parts shelf to get the circuit board from but there's a loose pin of the 9 pin connector. Is it fixable or...
So my problem is, I can't open the driver's door from the inside. I did take off the door panel and checked the opening mechanism and spotted some kind of an arm that pushes a rotor that opens the door linkage. On the passenger side the arm reaches the rotor (or whatever it is called), but...
I have some door lock rod clips missing / broken, '74 Valiant 4 door
https://521restorations.com/73-76-A-Body-Door-Latch-Lock-Clip-Set-1-kit-for-both-doors-/
I theoretically need these but I can't find a shop that has them in stock. Are there alternatives? Or does someone has some of these/knows...
Update: I was at the rental where the two cars from the poll are from because my brother rented a VW Bug for two days. I asked them what car they would choose, the Rolls or the Caddy and they said the Rolls Royce wouldn't be available for the rest of 2024/25 because it got an engine failure...
I am sorry to create another thread about the spark plug thing but the more I read about it the more I get confused.
I own a '74 built 225 Slant Six (2806830-7 block if that helps) built in Newark.
I recently got told I have to remove the spark plug washers, thats not the problem, but my problem...
I need to replace the PCV valve and the valve cover breather. The hose that leads from the PCV valve to the carb turned into a swiss cheese when I removed it so I need a new one. Can I use any hose for that purpose? Same question for the hose that leads from the breather to the air filter box.
I apologize for my late response. I've spent some time in England.
I did some reading and felt stupid because I have had an oil consuming problem earlier with my daily and we've replaced the PCV valve then... I mean a malfuntioning PCV valve can suck oil instead of air, so I've removed the PCV...
As I said, I drove it like 1400 miles, poured in like a liter of oil already and now the oil level is below "low" already.
No, there is no smoke at all. Maybe a tiny cloud the second after startup but nothing special.
I go try what the other guys said and see if it helped. I really really...
It all started like a month ago when my Valiant (225 Slant Six, 1974 model year), misfired badly. It stalled 4 times in less than a mile of driving. I was lucky to be near home.
I've started the car like a week later again without any issues but replaced the ballast resistor because it was a...
These were popular in europe aswell, thinking of the Volvo Amazon, Ford Cortina, Daimler Double-Six, Borgward Isabella, Opel Commodore and many many more. Japan had the same thing in the 90's with the Silvia, Chaser, Skyline and so on.
I totally agree with you. 4 door models mostly look brilliant aswell but 2 doors look a little bit better but I wouldn't mind owning a 4 door version aswell. I mean, I actually do (but because I couldn't afford a Scamp). I think 4 door sedans and wagons need to get more attention. Edsel wagons...
I've finally found motivation to check it.
Ohms were a bit high at 5.9 to 1.9-2.2, the replacement is 5.5 to 1.8. The old one was at 17.7 once instead of 5 but this might have been a faulty measurement.
The difference from old to new is low but I've changed it anyway cuz the old one was a...
I've heard many people prefer a 2-door over a 4-door when it comes to classic sedans, especially from the 50s/60s period like the Bel Airs, Cadillacs or the Furys. Why is that? Were they more "exclusive" because the 4-doors got built more often? I think it can't be because of "style" because a...
Well the connector pin thing (I have no idea what it is called) is a bit loose due to the crack so I can move it a little bit which might cause a sudden interruption.
I can't post the video I've made...
My '74 Valiant suddenly died last month 3 times in a distance of like 2 miles or so. Started back up again but it died 1min after again.
She started right up when the engine was cold.
I think it might be the ballast resistor because... I mean look at it. It also still has the OEM part number...
I was actually thinking about that but my friend would hate me if I show up in my Valiant (it's famous for breaking down) :) Renting an A Body here is difficult.
Yes I know it is very bizarre to ask this in a forum but even after 5 weeks of thinking I still can't decide.
My friend (23 years old I guess) asked me to be his "best man" so I have to organise a car. A rental service only for classic cars has got two very interesting cars to rent: A 1964 Rolls...
Welcome to the forum! I'm quite new here aswell (joined in Nov. '22) but the people here are very helpful and friendly. My Valiant wouldn't be what it is now without these guys here so you've made a good decision to come here.
I'm very interested in your project and as many people already said...
